  1. Sounds like an absolute blast !!! Congrats !!!!
  2. It's a fun and addictive game, anytime you want to learn give me a shout, I wish you could have made it to the meet and greet, I had my boards there with me and we could have played a few games.
  3. Man I have been wanting to get down your way and do a little fishin with ya !! I have been so busy here it seems like time just goes by so fast, this coming weekend will or should be my last camping trip for the year, the campground we stay at does a Holloween thing for the children the last 2 weekends of October, it's like they have their own little community to go trick or treating in and the children love it, they get dressed up in their little costumes and have a blast !!! I have ordered a new Skeet Reese rod and some new jigs from Seibert Outdoors and lookin forward to getting out there again, the river trip sounds amazing and I would love to be able to get that in before the year is over, and before it gets too cold. I found some new interesting structure over at Anna when we did our meet and greet, I am also hoping to get to explore that as well this year, colder temps = very little boat traffic, I looked at my trolling motor this past week and I think it is time to retire that thing, it has been on it's last leg for the past 3 years now and I think it finally let go, I was hoping the extra cash would allow me some fishing trip money from my second job but now that I have to find one of those it may have to be put on hold, at least for now. Thanx for the invite, I look forward to getting there I hope and fishing with ya soon !! I will give you a call or shoot you a text after this coming weekend and let you know how things are looking, I have to fix the portch on the house I think the following weekend, but after that i am looking to take a break from the everyday normal and relax a little. I am not traveling down there for a 4 hr fishing trip, it had better take all day !!! LOL !!!!!

All this talk about drugs makes me wonder if thats why I can't remember the 70's and if retirement does this stuff to you, NO THANKS !!! I will just keep working till i'm dead, hopefully I will be in an a beer induced sleep when that happens.
  5. Happy birthday big guy !!! 33, wow, I don't remember 33, or was it 34 or maybe it was, ah what the crap, i'm lucky to remember 10 minutes ago...who's birthday is it again? OH YEA !!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG GUY !!! Crap, I already said that once didn't I ...now where did I put that cake at? see what you have to look forward too !!!
  6. X2 Especially if there is a current running over a given point, the fish will stage on the calm side of that current no matter how slow or fast the current is and wait to ambush their prey. Approaching a point as WRB suggested is key, dropping your trolling motor in as quiet as possible will also help in getting you even closer to your target, you would be suprised at how much little things like that will increase your odds on catching not one fish but multiple fish.
  7. SON OF A !@#$%^&*()_+_)(*&^%$#@!
  8. HA !!!! I WISH I HAD A REPORT TO GIVE BUT NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU THINK I COULD GET OFF TO GO FISHING ... HE## NO !!! LOL !!! Does a corn hole report work ???? I won 16 games straight this past weekend, had to go back to 11 about half as many games cause of my stinking short shot wouldn't land right for me LOL !!!
  9. All we can do is give you our suggestions and as much info as we can from our own personal experiences, we appreciate you taking them into consideration and we hope it helps you make the best decision you can. I would also like to say good job all, I too learned something with the app you can get for you cell phone LOL thats pretty cool to know !!!
  10. You did a heck of a nice job there Sun Fish !!!!! Your porpoising can be from having the trim too far up while the boat is trying to plane, if I may offer a suggestion, tuck your engine all the way down or in before you take off, once the boat starts to plane and the nose flattens out then start your trim up until the boat starts to ride smooth, once you get the hang of knowing where the boat is most comfortable it will be easy to get it on plane.
  11. Na, they have been drinking too much Sunkist soda pop LOL !! I think it is due to their blood, it starts to concentrate in areas such as their mouths and pallat's, it almost looks like they have a sore throat, the pigmentation of their skin may reflect a changing color and blend with the blood to give it an off color such as an Orange, I have seen a Yellowing and a deep Blood Red in colder water conditions and during the fall I have also seen Orange and an Orange/Red color mix. Just like your hands when they get cold and you warm them by a fire, they will turn very red from the blood being concentrated in the tiny little vessels trying to warm the areas that have been effected by the cold.
  12. WOW What a day !!! Pickwick has Gar too?
  13. THANK YOU JESUS !!! and Captin Shane Procell LOL !!! That was awesome man !!!!
  14. I am jealous of those who do as well, family and bills that have all but doubled on a lot of us this past presidential term have not let me get anywhere near the water but once this past year and only a handfull of times in the past 3 years. A boat to troll around in is going to give you a lot of different things, I know you are excited about the prospect of being a new boat owner as we all are/were for the first time, but take your time and find the right match for you, get the best deal you can and the best fit for you and your girl. The more you save the better the boat you will be able to purchace, or if you choose to you can upgrade some things on your purchace. You stated you are not in love with the boat by any means, with that being said I would trust myself and keep looking for something that peaks your interest, if you are interested in something you wont mind doing your homework before you buy and taking good care of your purchace in the long run will come much more satisfying to you. No matter what you decide we wish you the best of luck and we are looking forward to seeing what you get here in the future. Good luck and be safe !!!
  15. I was born in Annandale just outside of DC, Granddad and Dad were big Senators fans, so was I till I was maybe 5 or 6, they moved to somewhere, I was thinking Texas not sure it's been so long ago LOL !! I agree Davey is doing really great but I am wondering if the same problems are going to keep happening, make it to the post season and fall just short, I can't wait for next season, it seems we are getting better, kinda like the Skins the past couple of games, we score more points in the first couple of games than we did in the past two seasons it seems and still can't win LOL !! getting better though, i'm lovin it !!!
  16. Same here interference with something electrical, check to make sure all of your cables are routed as far away from any electrical device you may have, my friends device did the same thing his cable was routed too close to his live well pump motor, never would have thought that but thats all it was.
  17. Did you check the magnets that are glued to the inside wall of the housing? sounds as if one of them has come loose.
  18. I too feel the same about RW, I will say this much, had it not been for him, I would not have had the success on a fishing trip that I had last year, his dedication to us and this web site is second to none. It's a d**n good thing you did RW, thank you for your support and for all that you do to help us be better fishermen and a better person !!!
  19. X2 I bet these things are killer on Seiberts swim/grass jigs, oh man I can't wait to give it a go !!!!
  20. The baitcaster for me is as motor is to a crane, the bait caster will really get some monsters out of some of the thickest stuff there is, think of it as a winch on a jeep. The spinner is one of the best reels ever invented, there are tons of uses for it, some have converted to all baitcasting equipment but I still prefer the spinner for a lot of my finess fishing, my mix is about 60/40 with baitcasters in the front, but most of my fishing is some sort of jig fishing. Don't ever give up on the spinner, like you I have caught some really good fish with mine as well, the difference in my opinion is the rod does more of the work on a spinner set up and the bait caster does most of the work on it's set up, it's good to have both and I enjoy using both.
  21. As an old Washington Senators fan, yes that gives a litlle bit of my age away, I have had no one to root for but the O's for a long time, now that I have the Nats I look forward to every season. My friend is a Detroit fan, and I am a huge fan of anyone that can beat the Yanks !!!
  22. I only knew him through words, and the posting from this web site, we shared a few remarks and a few snip-it's, if you will, at one another, Bill seemed like one of those truley great individuals that enjoyed life as we all should enjoy it, his friendly sarcastic remarks, his knowlage of fishing passed on to me and others will be forever usefull and passed on to my children and grandchildren. I fished last month for the first time in a long time, one of his comments entered into my brain of a remark he once made that made no sence to me at the time, a friend had given me a lure, a jig to be exact, one that he said never worked for him, When I approached a lay down with that jig tied on, Bill's comment came to mind, and I used it, smile!! he said when you toss that jig, it's a gift, gifts from other fishermen are good fortune and the smile is knowing it will work for you. You know, looking back at that statement, when I picked up that rod and pitched that jig, I did have a smile on my face, not for reasons of thinking it will work but just thinking of his comment and how funny it would be if it all worked out, well it did, a nice little 4 lb bass took the bait on the fall and ran with it, I was not smiling at that point, I was laughing, laughing at how crazy that no sence comment worked out, and how everything in that comment made perfect sence, confidence is what you were teaching, but the real lesson was not to forget how much fun fishing really is. Bill you were correct, good fortune does come from the free gifts that others are willing to share, your gifts to others have been a blessing, no matter how small they were, I for one will never forget to smile whenever I get the chance to fish from that day forward, unfortunately I did not get the chance to tell you this story in person or through words, but your lesson's will live on in my family circle as I am sure they will live on with others. Rest in peace Wild Bill, and to your family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
  23. See what we were saying LOL !!! I would feel comfortable at 800 to 1,200 range, if everything worked, get the numbers off the boat and run a check for its actual value then deduct for carpet and sun damage, start on the low end of the scale and work your way up if you really are interested, that would be my suggestion or since this deal seams a little shady I would most likely just keep looking, again unless you are really interested in this boat. A cover for this boat is around 40 bucks at Wal-Mart in my area, but they are what you pay for, the better the cover the more it costs. As for the cable drive, the answer is no, you do not have to sit down to use this system, I was simply talking about being old or older LOL !! I personally do not like to sit down and fish, my job requires me to be up all day on a concrete floor, sitting too long will make it hard for me to get up and down, therefor I am much more comfortable standing For me I can still use that cable system but it makes my legs tired on windy days when you have to stand and be on top of the trolling motor all day with one leg higher than the other, the waters I fish are too deep for a power pole to be used and a lot of times I will just toss an anchor out. The cable drives are awesome systems, what I have switched to is a flat foot pedal that is electronic, for me it works better and is much more comfortable to use, you may like the cable drive trolling motor control, so don't be discouraged by my opinion.
  24. Oh how very true that statement is, tell your wife I said hello!! and since your mom is from here we will be willing to let you visit... once in a while, but your wife is weclome anytime for as long as she likes. LOL !! By the way, I know your itching for a reply to that statement of "tell you what we are going to tell you - tell you - then tell you what we told you" so I will tell you this...I told you so !!! Thanx for the input on the fee's nice job buddy !!
