I don't think Daiwa will let Shimano just swoop in and win everyones heart with newer better reels at the same price point. Especially since their less than $200 reel area has just been on par. Maybe nothing this year but I predict that Daiwa may be brewing something for the 2012 iCAST. On the New PowerPro talk - I really hope so. Power Pro is a great, sensitive strong line but it fishes like rope. So rough and loud. I think they'll come out with a 8-strand like everyone else

I saw the etching into the foam grip but the words threw me off. However if it's a prototype in testing they may have just threw a Cumulus foam grip on it. But the picture wasn't great quality so I guess we'll have to wait eh?

On the Daiwa line's, I would like to see a budget Zillion (if thats possible) because I really love the palm-ability of that frame design. I would also like to see more rods (Casting) with the fuji ECS reel seat. They are IMO the best out there (Comfort-wise) and the rods they come on are few and far between. (Besides Quantum... Yuck.)

IDK if thats the new cumulus rod. Not saying im an expert picture analyzer, but it looks like the name of the rod doesnt end with an "s" but maybe a "n" ? Maybe it will be a step up from the Cumara but cheaper than the Cumulus. Also, I think that reel looks hideous.

I haven't noticed much bad rap from fluoro. If you like the InvizX (My personal favorite so far ) give AbrazX a try. It's got more memory sure, but it really is some abrasive stuff! great for anything around wood/timber and rocks.

I played around with then at the richmond BPS and I thought they felt pretty dang good. was just wondering how they stack up sensitivity wise? The price tag is definitely attractive, and is there any difference between the Sig series and Carbon Black rods? They look like the same thing but with cork handles on the Carbon's.

I think the lawn-moving, dog-walking thing just doesn't work now-a-days. Especially with our economy. I tried it, and guess what, you'll spend more money buying lawn mower gas then you'll make for profit because nobody wants to pay more than 20$ for humongous lawns, and 2. they have kids they can get to do it for free. Although there are a few cash crops, but i'd keep your job.

A happy medium between InvizX and AbrazX is Sufix Fluoro.

Custom is the way to go IMO. You get exactly what you want and none of what you don't.

I like short M/XF for jerkbaits, and a long MH/MF for cranks. For both in a compromise I would get a 7' M/F or MH/F depending on your lure weight range

Never heard of Hurricane rods, where do they sell them? Didn't see em; at TW or BPS

What seperates it from other braids ? Sufix 832 has a gore strand, fireline is all about fused superlines, etc. What's it's selling point ? Because other than that it just looks like a run of the mill braid to me.

Why the frowny faces? I've never done it, but alot of fisherman I know do it. Although, on the same page as SirSnookalot If It doesn't meet my expectations in one week or less I will return it.

And why don't you want braid? Just curious. It's the best line out there IMO for jigs, plastics, and many other techniques.

I wouldn't waste my time going to BPS for a rod under $50, however under $75 dollars or so I would make the trip. But if your sticking with your under $50 budget I would get the lightning rod.

Trash your Vanish. It is without a doubt the worst fluorocarbon line out there. I'd reccomend picking up some InvizX for spinning reels and AbrazX for casting reels

Just wondering how you guys feel about returning used rods and reels as "gifts" I know a few people who will lets say, buy a rod from BPS. They'll fish it for a month, and decide, "Hey, You know I don't like this rod any more and I can get this other new one that looks alot better for the same price," So he/she returns the rod saying it's a "gift" from there aunt, uncle, whomever with a fake story just to get a different rod, even though they fully know they used it. I was just wondering if this is something that you guys do commonly, or if you guys frown upon this.

4 bucks round trip to my fishing hole and back, give or take, and about 13 bucks to BPS round trip. I don't go as often as I should to either because im not made of money
