  1. My comparison is from 20# of both makes PP-SPB and on the same rod, St Croix Premier, SPB is much louder. I also have Stren Sonic Braid and SPB is louder than that but the Sonic Braid is just 8#. The thing with Sonic braid it seemed to have more coating on it than either PP or SPB and the coating built-up on tne line guide of baitcaster. A squirt of line conditioner took care of that.
  2. How about a painter pole that extends? We had a nice one where I work, use it to get stacks of insulating foam unstuck in a grinder could really put pressure on it. It couldnt withstand being ran over by a forklift though. Ive thought about getting one for a pushpole to get through lilypads (I have inflatable boat). The only thing what keeps them from just sticking way deep in the bottom of lake?
  3. I have 20# SPB but the stuff is very noisy sounds like a violin while reeling just rubbing my fingers over it feel a bit rough. I dont use it much because of this. Ive used PP for years and never had this type of noise issue. The only good thing was SPB was on clearance at Dick's and got 300yds for $10.
  4. I think my DeadBolt Classic is a terrific reel. I bought it for $70 in 2003 and its a workhorse and a tank. Its never had an issue just clean it now and then yet the thing still very free and smooth the handle will spin and spin very easily. Ive used most every lure I have with it from little Strike King Bitsy Minnow to SPRO Frog. Just last year used it to catch my PB LMB never worry about the reels performance. Its worn, scratched, dinged, been dropped over and over, tossed in frustation from lost fish. Ive left it on top of my car took-off and at about 45mph I heard a noise and looked back and there was the reel and rod scrapping across the pavement but for cosmetic damage the reel still great.
  5. Well my made in Korea reel has been great no issues while my Japan reel needed and needs again some work.
  6. I looked around and all I found was this page http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/sevylor-fish-master-325-boat.aspx?a=542578 They match your boat with a pump that puts out 2.5psi the pump in my first post will do that. I couldnt really find the actual psi amount needed. My boat has a ruler gauge and I fit a template over it, the boat fills and stretches to where the lines match to tell its full. My boat doesnt even require 2.5psi that pump will over-inflate by my gauge/template easily. That one from Wal-mart in your first post might do the job. Best thing though is buying from them easy returns if it doent work, give it a try. I tried the $25 Coleman rechareable one and it didnt work well so returned it.
  7. If you watch your line it might. My sunglasses are pretty dark tinted and with 10/2 PP Green the line gets difficult to see.
  8. Well I have only used this one and its $36 works great for me though http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00686899000P?sid=IDx20070921x00003a&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=00686899000P takes under 10 minute to fill my boat here
  9. Same here BUT if its windy and throwing against the wind will tighten some.
  10. Here some little cranks I use and small frogs. I saw you also have a Light-Med spinning outfit the 1/4oz frogs might be better on that. My favorite is the Strike King Bitsy Minnow Black/Chartreuse the one in the fish picture.
  11. Like that in my area $700 and might stretch it to $1000 obo just a quick search and this your length & hp for $550 http://eauclaire.craigslist.org/boa/2479212996.html
  12. OAKLEY PIT BULL Awesome coverage around all sides to keep light out they are great for my light sensitive eyes. Plus in this hot humid weather sweating lots & lots they dont slip a mm like they are stuck in place.
  13. My Stradic did that clicking noise just as you mention at top and bottom of spool travel. There is a little metal pin piece on/near a gear that didnt have grease so it click from the change of direction cant remember the piece#. When tilting the reel side or up the sound goes away cauase the piece shifts just a bit. I put a dap of grease and click went away. My Stradic makes other noise that I cant get rid of like a whirrr as the rotor spins 2nd one to do that. So from my experience the Stradic isnt all that quiet either. I have the gold Supreme XT & that is deafly quiet.
  14. A regular 12'jon shouldnt be too heavy should be able to carry it yourself. I had a 14' jon me and my friend could carry it with 5hp motor on it. A couple places no ramps so carry-on a must we carried it oh 30 yards or so.
  15. I would say you broke the law. Depends on the site specific lake rules. One lake near me is trolling motors only no gas. Another lake 10hp limit with no-wake with larger hp motors. Yet another lake is 10hp limit cant use larger hp at all, on same lake certain area is trolling motor only.
  16. From my experience NO. Even same model from one say one Corbina to another Corbina can fit differently. Blackfin ML seemed bigger than the Corbina ML--FISCH size XL is bigger than the PERMIT size XL from what Ive tried. To the difference between sizes the Corbinas wouldnt fit me at all the Blackfin & Permit were close but PERMIT a touch bigger The BLACKFIN ML was felt better/bigger than the SWORDFISH Lg the FISCH were the biggest. The one thing I didnt care for on all but the PERMIT was the coverage around the the eye, most just seem to be small lens. Wouldnt wrap passed the side all that far nor go above my eyebrows. Now this is just my face shape others with smaller face/feature will get different results.
  17. Costa has some nice retainers
  18. Sorry for your loss as well Hope you dont mind this here, isnt really about dogs but may want to give it a listen
  19. A couple times loooong ago Ive taken a Robin in and raised it from that early stage in your picture. I chopped the crawlers into little bits plus I fed it bread very wet with water. I would just dip my finger in water and give it a few drops that way. I would say try not to over-feed it but what that amount is cant tell ya. I guess for variety get some waxworms/spikes. With its eyes not open yet it will take to you once the eyes do open-lucky there. Mine I could take out in their early flight stage on my finger and toss them to start flight they will learn on their own you dont need to fly. I just whistle quick blurps and it come back to me. Take it to downspout while raining for a bath. Let it fly around the yard it always came back to me. I would catch bugs and put them on the ground 10-20 feet away point to them and the bird would go after them. The most difficult part taking to the park letting it go
  20. Tried a few presentations Thumper, Anaconda, Rage Toad they werent wanting anything but switched to crawlers and started catching them. Here the 2 cats and 2 of the few bass
  21. Back in January Dicks had a sale on St Croix Premier rods I got 6'6" MH Fast and a 4'6" UL Mod spinning rods for $23.50 EACH.
  22. So the #6 size worked well for you. I was going to use #4 thought it might be too small but see it should be fine.
  23. I own all brands on the list but chose other, Pinnacle is my favorite.
  24. Any of you ever actually see a bass follow your bait, while the bait is in the air? On my little local lake water clarity is pretty clear. Too, the bank is angled so at places my eyelevel is above the water 10-12 feet looking into the water and can see/spot bass very easily. Well this morning I switched from senko to nightcrawler. See a bass coming from the right so aim worm out farther and ahead to reel back in to meet the bass (well planned to) and as the worm was still in the air I clearly see the bass change direction(turn a bit right) speed-up right to the worm, no sooner did the worm hit water and the bass snapped it up. Ive actually have seen this a number of times so just wondering if others have seen as well.
