  1. Kinami Palm tree AKA Fat Ika 30' deep to on top of slop. Skipped under docks. Throw to weed edges and it falls at angle into the weeds even farther back. Walk the dog sub surface capable as well.
  2. I have the 7'6" MH/F, excellent stick. And what you cant see in most pics is the aesthetics of the inlay x pattern design beneath the Fenwick World Class emblems and between the split grips.
  3. Ditch the hollow frog altogether and just throw a weedless wacky of some sort senko ocho dinger with hook positioned 90 degrees something that will cause a commotion but when strike happens is more easily sucked down. A frog will want to float stay above the slop the wacky will fall. Too many times Ive seen a frog actually go airborne tossed to a side from bass busting through slop.
  4. 15# smackdown wont be as strong as 15 # PP or 832 S8s cause the diameter is thinner with smackdown. If you want the same strength as say 20#S8S get 30# smackdown they will have the same dia. and be closer to each other in actual knot strength.
  5. I havent went for one due to the guides being titanium and the weight is actually one ounce more than Im accustomed to with my 7' M/F rods. Plus not sure on the balance of these, I purchased an Elite Tech Bass rod and the balance wasnt very good nor the sensitivity. But the biggest negative the Ti guides. Oh and I have a World Class rod that I got a very good deal on so the Aetos sort of has no luster even at 1/2.
  6. here is my take on 3 of my most used this year being .011dia s8s gamma torque smackdown strenght/dia 1 2 3 quietness 1 2 2 price 2 1 3 subtleness 2 1 2 smoothness 1 3 2 bleed 1 2 3
  7. Well nothing I was throwing was working senko ika jig keitech impact fat so went for gills. Started using 1" gulp minnow on 1/80 jighead size 10 and not even one bluegill caught.
  8. Well cant catch the big ones every outing but this is ridiculous. Only caught two in 4 hours and they were both this size.
  9. slow 4 fish in 4 hours yesterday with this being the biggest fish caught near bottom 21fow out far. Weeds disappearing and water clearing.
  10. From 8/3/16 Saw this pond looking on google maps Rotory Park in Dekalb so went and tried it out. Started with frog on the slop but after two strikes that missed I switched to ikas and that worked. I caught 3 on the slop. The rest of the lake nothing was biting in the open areas. first hit about a foot from the edge to open water
  11. Gen 1 Quantum Smoke rod 7'M/F can still be found 100-120. Lightweight 3.4oz, has good balance, has good power for medium power and very good sensitivity.
  12. Did you try just going to a local walmart and returning it? Thats what I would do first, skip dealing with USPS.
  13. This is my second Helios rod, I have 7' MH/F as well, it was an easy decision to get another.
  14. I ordered this 7' M/F rod last week and got to try it out a little. I was throwing fat ikas with it and it did well with those. Who says lightweight rods cant have good balance as well. Here is my core50 on it feels great in hand. Best part walmart has them $112
  15. Got a new rod to try out Okuma Helios 7' M/F. Nice and light and good balance with core50. Throwing saltwater ikas on slop and managed a couple 17" 15". Also throwing a Rage Swimmer next to a fish crib for a 16"er. The Helios rod is a keeper the fish got put back
  16. So are you saying that NFC blanks arent in demand
  17. Then its a good time for dealers to stock up as well if you can buy them less than usual. St Croix puts their rods on sale on their site no one complains that cabelas gander bps getting shorted.
  18. My best for today came at noon. I was deadsticking a palm tree out 100+' and 20fow. While that was resting I was throwing paddletail with another set-up got 2 casts in when I noticed other line going tight. Dropped set-up in hand grabbed resting rod and set hook on a 3#10oz 18"+. My Fenwick World Class 7'6" MH/F rod didnt skip a beat handled it easily. With this rod I could feel every movement the bass made coming up sideways shake rod performing extremely well just a bit too strong, maybe.
  19. Yes its still a great reel at that price. Cant think of a reel offhand that I would purchase over it at $240. It will hold its own quality performance wise with any 2015+ reel at $240. Still is my most used reel
  20. I own both get the CORE50MG7 while you can at that price. The CI4 you can buy later for around $220 w/tax & shipping during sale events so $209 isnt all that great a price.
  21. yes and the 3.8" weighs in at 6.772grams--.23887ounces
