Video of the Japanese angler skipping with a baitcaster?
I've casted with someone elses TD-Z R type and I managed to borrow a Scorpion before for a day. TBH, I didn't feel that big of a difference. They were sturdy and worked very well, but when it comes down to it, I'm still most comfortable and perform the best with the gear I use the most, which is my gear. For instance, I can get away with a much wider swing with my personal pitching setup because the rod is weird and doesn't perform quite like it's rated to. So my pitching technique employs a wider swing than usual. So when I pitch with a proper pitching stick I end up backlashing and have to adjust. Little quirks like that. Your body learns to adapt, and you end up getting used to it and not minding it at all.

PS 3
30 GB is plenty. Smart kid though. PS3's double as a blu-ray player. Hi-Def movies are pretty great.

Rude Anglers
He was probably overcompensating for the absence of his two close friends. 10 bucks says they're in his wife's purse. Pontoons ARE the minivan of boats after all.

GPS Waypoints Intentionally Erased ?
See if you can transfer them onto a computer so you can back them up. Then delete them. This way you can enjoy fishing the moment, but still have the knowledge of honey holes that you can share with friends and new anglers so that they might become more hooked on bass fishing. One whackfest is all it takes.

Help me choose the next additon to my arsenal; A flip and pitch combo
Idk about you guys, but I find that I am able to pitch a lot more accurately with a 6'6" than a 7'+. That and I get better hooksets with a fast tip than an extra fast tip when fishing thicker gauge hooks like those on jigs.

Ever wonder if fishing is not your thing?
Yep. Was out there on 2nd and 3rd, and froze my butt off. Sunday was a little bit better though since the sun came out, but Saturday was just a nightmare. Fortunately, I brought my frog togs. Unfortunately, I forgot my boots. ;D We had to fish the river Sunday cause of a small craft advisory being put into place. Even then our team managed to haul in some nice pig smallies - 4.69# from my coangler, and another guy got a 4.98#.

Your Honey Hole
St Clair has the 9 mile and the "Firecracker". I could be wrong, but I believe the firecracker is around where the St Clair river meets the lake. From what I heard it has a bunch of small craters on the river/lake bottom, and that the smallies love to hide in them. Funny because when I was taken there I caught a smallie by burning an Indiana/Colorado spinnerbait about a foot underneath the surface. A local lake I fish has the "earthen dam" which is usually a nice spot.

Go up to Lake St Clair during the spring. Almost guaranteed that you haul in some pig smallies.

Which co-poly?
I'd go with YoZuri. I got some 10# Hybrid on my Fuego for pitching smaller presentations, and I've yet to have it break on a fish for me - and I fish this stuff around rocks, logs, gunk, etc.

Need a boater for St Clair(Boater Found! Thanks! Mods please delete)
Forgot to mention - it's the CBAA Big Ten Tournament. There's gotta be someone out there who is planning to hit up St Clair this weekend for some smallies, right? Help some college kids out! It'd suck if we had to leave behind 2 of our team because we're short a boat! :'(

Well now you know. ;D IMO pretty good price. A little more expensive than senkos, but not by much. Definitely worth trying a pack IMO.

Anybody into Techno/Dance/Dubstep/Hardstyle?
Justice is pretty legit. Alex Gaudino is like Benassi with a latin flair. Both Dirty South and Wideboys make some decent remixes as well.

Anybody into Techno/Dance/Dubstep/Hardstyle?
I like a few artists. Calvin Harris is pretty great. So is Phoenix. Tiesto is one of the better trance artists out there, but trance for me gets boring after 20 minutes or so in general. Simian Mobile Disco has that awesome Audacity of Huge song as well.

First tournament: what setups?
I would be a little careful about getting an XF tip if you're going to throw heavier jigs with heavy gauge wire hooks though. Makes setting the hook somewhat harder - you won't be able to get away with just a quick snap of the wrist as much.

Advice on Setup
Yep, I already got the superlight. It's still quite an upgrade from the old 2 pc Shakespeare I was using before. ;D

first time ever fishing smallmouth need help
Do you usually rig the Megabug backwards? Like tail facing up? I tried T-Rigging them weightless the conventional way and found that it takes a very long time for them to sink. I've personally had better luck sticking a frog hook in them and fishing them like a topwater frog.

Advice on Setup
So far, this is the setup I'm planning. I'd love some critique on it, so I can figure out whether I need to change anything. 1.All Purpose Setup: Daiwa Zillion 6.3 + Daiwa Cielo 6'6 MHF + 40# Sufix Braid Baits: 1/4 - 3/8 oz Ball Head Finesse Jigs, Bullet Weighted T-Rigs, Jerkbaits (I absolutely HATE losing these, so I'd rather throw them on braid unless it kills the action), Lipless Cranks, Everything Else 3/8 - 1/2 oz. Basically this setup is for when every other one has something tied on and I want a quick switch, or when I want to throw 2 baits of the same type and need 2 rods for that. Contemplating Dropshotting with a heavier(around 3/8-3/4 oz) Jig as the dropshot weight with this setup. 2. Light Bait Setup: Daiwa Fuego 6.3 + Falcon Lowrider XG MHXF 6'7 Weightless Worm Special + 10# Yozuri Hybrid Baits: 1/8-1/4 oz Shakey Heads, 1/8-1/4 oz Finesse Weedguarded Jigheads (Jig + Wacky Worm, Jig + Beaver, Jig + Tube, etc.), Weightless Plastics, Keel weighted plastic swimbaits 3.Flipping/Jig/C-Rig Setup: 2009 Revo STX + Kistler 7' HF + YoZuri Hybrid Ultrasoft 15# Baits: 3/8 - 1 oz. Football and Arkie Jigs, Flipping Bulletweighted Craws + Creatures, C-Rigged Plastics, Weedless Frogs 4. Finesse Setup: Japanese Daiwa Fuego 2000 + Quantum Superlight 7'4 MHF + 6# YoZuri Hybrid Baits: Dropshots, 1/16-1/8 oz. Jigs, Darterheads, Grubs, Splitshot Rigs, Wacky 3" and 4" senkos 5.Cranking/Spinnerbait Setup: Shimano Curado 100D + Berkley Bionix 6'6 MHF (Feels WAY more like a Moderate action since the tip is not even CLOSE to being flexible enough for a fast rating) + 15# YoZuri Ultrasoft Baits: Spinnerbaits, Lipless Cranks, Crankbaits, Poppers, Buzzbaits, Spooks I do want to point out a couple things about myself though: 1. I've yet to get tired wrists or forearms from fishing. I lift weights 3-5 times a week, and the majority of my exercises incorporate forearms and wrists, so that probably explains it. 2. I don't like losing hard baits, so I tend to throw them on braid. Especially jerkbaits since they tend to be expensive. 3. I'm a slow fisherman. I almost never burn baits - I grew up fishing for carp a lot so I guess the patience and preference for fishing slow is just a quirk that carried over from that.

Children these days...
See if there's a University near where you live with a law program. A lot of the legal paperwork and procedures that cost a lot of labor hours are actually 100% doable by law students. I know at my university, we have a student legal team that we can opt to have represent us in court free of charge. Apparently they're pretty darned good too because everyone is hungry to prove themselves. See if your local law school has any students who would be willing to do some pro bono work for a good cause. You may be pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't worry too much about their competence, because usually these kinds of projects are going to be supervised by a professor. If you're not sure, you can always ask and maybe request a professor to supervise the student if they aren't already.

Tips and Tricks for Lake St. Clair?
Hi guys, I will probably be heading up north to fish Lake St. Clair in a few weeks, and was just wondering if anyone has any advice for me specifically for that lake. I've never fished there before, and have heard that it's basically a giant bowl. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, James

Hmmmm.... interesting
What you could do is sell mixed bags of plastics for other people to try on this forum. 8-) For instance, throw 2 of every type of plastic you have that you aren't using into a ziploc, and offer them to people so that they can try, say, 10 or 20 different types of plastics without having to buy individual packs of them. You make back some of your $, and others get to try out all sorts of stuff and possibly find a winner for their waters.

Daiwa Vs. Shimano Vs. Abu
Daiwa for me. In my eyes they deliver good consistent value at a reasonable price.
