  4. October 15th, 2013 With the lake standing at about 80% capacity and currently stable, with the temperatures in the low nineties, fishing is as we expected – a ton of surface activity as fish are cornering shad and chasing them to the top. Although these fish will not take a topwater lure, the schooling bass can be caught using ¾ and 1 oz. rattletraps. Yesterday, four fish between 8 and 11 were caught on rattletraps in the cove Papachaw. With the stable level, fish have been suspended in 25 feet of water out in the main lake. A lot of these fish are catchable with watermelon lizards and watermelon worms, along with bouncing white double-bladed spinnerbaits on the bottom. Just sticking with the basic worm for the day, currently no problem catching between 20 and 50 per day. Last spring, the spawn was fantastic, with countless 9 to 12 inch bass running the lake near the surface. — in Bacurato, Sinaloa, Mexico. Jeff

  8. The road to the side of it is double wide, and hardly used. I always just park on the side of the road, but I have only been there a handful of times. We can meet up anytime! Jeff

  11. You could ask me a million, 1 lure, 1 rod, 1 reel, 1 place to fish, but narrowing down to only 1 topwater....are you crazy? Jeff

  19. The 50e is smaller. I like the 50 sized reels much better. They fit my hands better! You can get a 50e and have the gears switched to a 7:1. DVT can do it for you! Jeff
  20. Try a good Co-poly like Yo-zuri hybrid or CXX. Make sure to use plenty of line conditioner and you will like it much better. Plus the price is right on the money! Next year in Mexico, I will have plenty of 20lb Yo-zuri you can spool up all of your reels if you like it. I bought a 3lb spool (~8700 yrds) Jeff
  21. Working on getting you the answer! Jeff
  22. I will not go into brands, but you want the fewest IPT for a deep crank reel. And then something in the middle for shallow to mid depth cranks. Do not just look at gear ratio, look at IPT! Jeff
  23. Are you looking for reel or rod? Your topic says reel, and the question is a rod? Jeff
