Ardent XS600
No way.......Graphite yes, plastic never....... :-? Like you said it....no way. That is also not the description for their 600, the frame and covers are magnesium,.....like many other reels, Daiwas and Shimanos. I will never have one b/c of their weight, but justice comes first, their drag weight is about 10 lbs and good enough to win the Classic. I don't think that it is comparable to any reel already mentioned on this post. Thanks Reelmech

In need of advice: which e21 carrot stix LTX rod for my application??
The parabolic is perfect for lures with treble hooks, for my taste the tip is too soft for spinnerbaits > 3/8

St Croix Avid or Carrot Stix LTX???
A lot of this goes with personal preference....both are great rods. I have 3 Avids ( 2 of them customs ) and the E21 LTX M parabolic. I take split grip over conventional cork handles any day. The handle of the E21 is the most comfortable that has been on my hands. The weight reduction is just unbelievable, lighter than my Steez MH. Even E21 is a new company in the tackle business, his designer has more ICAST Best of the Show than any other rod builder or company... ever. Both have life time warranty, E21 is cheaper. Thermalon has been around for a while, you will find it on the Airrus Ultra XL, another ICAST winner of the same designer.

Daiwa Megaforce?
Nope but I had a couple of Vientos, now long gone. The twitching bar get stock in other rods, line, rod locker and other. One of mine have to return to Daiwa since I bent the bar in a tourney hurry. At the end I wasn't using the thing at all.

e21 Carrot Styx 249.99 Why or why Not?
Same here. It is lighter than my GLX 803 and even my Steez 6.7. One of the most comfortable handle that have passed through my hands.
