  1. I think it was an estimated/calculated speed. I've given mine everything I've got on smooth water and got to 5.5mph. I don't know how I could get that extra 2.5mph without a motor or something.
  2. Academy has one that is rated as a medium diver but it gets down pretty deep for a squarebill. https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress™-spcrm-crankbait?sku=sexy-melon-shad
  3. I'll trade the cold temps for about a 1,000 jet skis and wake boats on every reservoir here this weekend.
  4. I'm direct tie with wire baits but I've been really happy using small clips with hard baits. I use a simple Duo Lock style and it's worked great on bass up to 7.5lbs.
  5. Even in great shape, it's still a 17 year old trolling motor. I bought a brand new Motor Guide for my johnboat for less than $300. There's a sucker born every minute though as the saying goes, so I guess it's worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. I'd be happy to get $100 if it was me.
  6. Haven't missed a single day at my "office". If only they could figure out a way for me to do it from home ?
  7. They have an actual chunk, but I like the Muscle Back Craw. I bet the Adrenaline Craw would be great too if I could ever remember to add them to my orders.
  8. This is mine, I call it Grasshopper.
  9. Perfect conditions this morning, but the fish didn't seem to agree. Worked really hard to get a few bites, but at least did get a couple decent ones.
  10. Looks all of 10 to me.
  11. They'd be bait if I was catching them ?
  12. I use to agree with this opinion but I've ran too many trips with 3 guys all throwing topwaters and the fish kept hitting one color more consistently than the other. Once they get switched over, everyone starts catching fish. I still feel like they're one of those baits that it probably matters the least, but it can really matter at times unfortunately.
  13. The War Eagle Finesse spinnerbait is the best that fits those specs I've found.
  14. Just had to add some Mini Swammers to my order. Got a feeling some finesse swimmers are going to come into play in my next tournament in a couple weeks and I'm hoping they'll do the trick.
  15. Welcome!
  16. There's a lot of behind the scenes work that goes into it and way more that even us Mods don't get to see. Not just the putting the forums together, but the big one is getting the sponsors signed up that keep the forum funded. I've been on several different fishing boards, still check a few but rarely participate because I'm "an outsider", I'm always concerned I'll get jumped on if I say something that a regular doesn't agree with and I just don't have the time or energy to deal with that. When I came here the first time and started reading, you can tell it's different. Provided you're here for the right reasons, everyone was welcomed and engaged in the conversations like they'd been here forever. There was no hot button debates about no fishing related topics, it was great, I knew I'd found the place for me.
  17. I love night fishing when I get the chance and have spent all night on the water more than a few times. It's a different ballgame in the dark.
  18. I fished in the same area as most the rest of the field. At least 3 of my 5 were witnesses being caught by other competitors. I'm not trying to scare anyone off, but I'm not going to take it easy on anyone and I'd hope they wouldn't do the same for me either. Big bass was a 19" largemouth. I'm rarely the guy who catches the big bass of the day in tournaments. Of the 4 tournaments I've fished this year, of which I've won all 4, I've caught the big bass of the day exactly 0% of the time.
  19. Sharpen it and grease that bait up with the slippery scent of your choice.
  20. I don't but I could get a picture. It's below the reel seat. The exposed portion on the split grip below the reel.
  21. They make a good finesse worm, magnum finesse worm, the Spine Craw replaces the Speed Craw, Craw Papi is a good standard craw bait, the Christie Craw is more of a flapping craw that I love on a jig, Houdini is better than a fluke imo, and obviously the YUM Dinger is a good stick worm. I'm not going to argue which is better, but as they say in sports "Sometimes the best kind of ability is availability", and while everyone's been scrambling to find any pack of Zoom they can, I'm buying 30 and 100 packs of YUM any day of the week ?‍♂️
  22. Animal Cookie Blizzard from DQ
  23. This past weekend was one of those "What kind of fish haven't I caught yet?" trips. White bass, wipers, walleye, largemouth, smallmouth, spots, blue cats, channel cats, a flathead, both kinds of crappie, and drum all made their way into my kayak. I think other than gar, carp, buffalo, goldeye, and any sunfish species I pretty much caught everything in the lake.
  24. They love a Ned rig, but I've caught them on all kinds of stuff fishing for bass. Caught one on a 3/8oz bladed jig this year. I've caught several on 1/2oz lipless, wiggle warts, even caught 2 of them on 1/2oz flipping jigs. Stocker trout are kind of like Forrest Gump.
