  1. Very much so, and losing a lot of it's productivity in the process.
  2. My favorite stick worm.
  3. It's not shallow until you have to trim the motor up here. 3/8oz with a 3.8 Fat Impact is my sweet spot for underspins.
  4. I skipped last year, so I'll do it this year.
  5. Took a very rare after work trip on a Sunday morning this morning. Another cold, cloudy start. Ran into a guy that watches my videos that I talked to for half an hour at the ramp, that's always interesting. About my second cast of the morning I got my first good bite on a spinnerbait. Got me thinking I was really going to do good. 45 minutes later, I'd caught 2 more tiny bass. It's the time of year on this lake when the hybrids go to one little spot and I can usually make them bite for whatever reason. I actually remembered my baits for them too. First cast got slammed. A couple cast later, an even bigger one. Then another. And then they stopped, because that's what they do. I tried for them for another half hour and did pick up a really cool looking bonus fish. I kind of halfheartedly went back to bass fishing but then caught another decent one pretty quick to get my head back in the game. I made a move down the lake and lost another nice one of the spinnerbait, first bite I'd had on it since catching the first one with it. Decided to keep slinging the blades a little more and man did I get rewarded. Funny thing is, I'd mentioned something to the guy at the ramp how I'd never caught one over 5 from this lake, well I have now, 5.53 to be exact. Caught another solid fish off a laydown and a few more smaller ones out of the weeds on the spinnerbait before I had to call it a day. Ended up catching my new lake PB and my biggest 5 fish bag ever for that lake.
  6. That swimbait bite looks so fun. I know that feeling when they eat it like that and it's such a rush. Looks like another great trip.
  7. Water reached the magic mark to make the hybrids bite at the local city lake. I don't know why it works, or what it is about this one boat sized spot, but it's without fail every year. Missed a few more and caught a beautiful bonus fish.
  8. I just fish them on a 1/8oz jighead. The ones I use are 1/8oz mushroom heads out of a Midwest Finesse mold with a 1/0 hook.
  9. Hobby Lobby is where I buy a lot of lure building supplies, so if you see me in the jewelry making isle MIND YA BUSINESS!!
  10. Had another great day on the water Friday. Best 5 were a little over 21lbs.
  11. Another vote for Tatsu. It's the best all around fluoro (handing+knot strength+sensitivity+abrasion resistance+castability), I've used. I spool with backing and can get a few fill ups off a spool, so that makes the price more tolerable.
  12. I'm partial to Smackdown personally. I like the Flame Green on my spinning reels so I can watch my line.
  13. Let me know when you get some available.
  14. I only fish the 300. I have a deep 300 but haven't really used it yet. Our lakes in NE Kansas are mostly so shallow that it's not often I get a chance to use a bait like that. I've fished a few lakes in Oklahoma; Grand, Spavinaw, Eucha, and Bixby.
  15. The 300 is one of my favorite jerkbaits. Agree with A-Jay, it gets to the 5-6 foot range. I don't use any of the 200 size because I have a lot of baits in that size range but not many of the bigger profile baits. The 300 has been one of my big fish jerkbaits the last few years since I started fishing them. The MB 110+1 is one of the only MB baits I buy. They get as deep as I need them to without being too much work to fish and they really seem to get bit.
  16. I have 2 of them. They're a solid bait for the money. They glide very easy and very wide. They're 4.5oz though, so if 4oz is your top end they're probably going to be too much for the rod you're slinging them on.
  17. Tear one leg off and put it on a jighead rigged horizontally and it has a great small baitfish profile. The Glacier color is great for doing that in clear water. I like small boot tail swimbaits like a 3.8 fat impact style bait, YUM Pulse Jr, or a 4" Strike King Swimming Shiner.
  18. I found this crankbait in the bottom of this picture last week with a gargantuan snap-swivel attached. That's a 1.5 sized squarebill for scale.
  19. I use something very similar to the Plano wraps and it works great. The only problem is treble hooks can poke through the mesh so hook covers are a must.
  20. A buddy had the day off Friday and decided to spend a (not so) beautiful day on the water with me. Rained pretty good in the morning with air temps in the high 30's and 15-20mph north winds, my body is not adjusted for that yet. He was sure the cold front would make it tough, I was sure the cold front would have them chewing, thankfully I was right. I did a lot of quick releasing big fish unfortunately, and Van wasn't catching the numbers I was, but he was throwing haymakers from the back seat. Our biggest 5 went just over 21 pounds.
  21. I've 100% for certain caught the same fish more once on more than one occasion. Pretty sure it just happened recently when I caught a fish just over 4lbs from the same tributary creek. Caught it about a mile away from where I caught it the week prior. First on a Hoodaddy, then on a squarebill. Both had gill wounds on the same side, and the exact same dorsal fin damage.
  22. Low 60's is prime time bass fishing temps. You're missing something for sure. Your bass should bite until water temps get into the low 40's or high 30's, that's when it gets real tough. It's been 100% moving baits here lately. Anything moved slowly around the bottom is a waste of time.
  23. If you don't like it, don't use it, end of discussion. Don't start anymore posts about how you don't like modern fishing tackle or feel it's necessary. LOCKDOWN!!
  24. He was the NFC though. I was referring to the "AFC dominating the last 20 years", comment.
