  1. If you like liver they do. I never understood the fear some folks seem to have of a bird much smaller than themselves. The worse you'll get is a little pinch if they grab some loose skin. Just stay away from the nest and goslings and they'll usually try to stay away from you. If they do charge you, a good boot or swat will change their mind really quick.
  2. Welcome to the forum from another KS member! I'm about 30 minutes south of Olathe.
  3. Welcome! Awesome fish!
  4. Welcome!
  5. I've caught 11 muskie in my life, all from Missouri. Drive about 9 hours south and I can put you on a 50+ fish day no problem right now. Bring your favorite jerkbaits and jerkbait combo and you're set. Might not be any over 3 pounds but largemouth and spots galore!
  6. That's a tank. I've heard good things about that lake, but 2.5 hours to fish a little lake is a haul.
  7. I fish some lakes here where they do. I've tried the exact same bait in both colors and they show a distinct preference to the junebug. Others lakes it doesn't matter at all. I really wish it didn't, makes it way easier when I can just fish whatever dark color I pull out of my box first. It got to the point that I started making junebug colored jigs specifically for a couple lakes I frequent.
  8. I mainly use copolymer for jigs and T rigs. Grand Slam Hi-SEAS has been my line of choice the last several months when I want a copolymer.
  9. That's very impressive. I'd love to do something like that for mine but my electrician skills are about on par with Clark Griswold.
  10. Haven't done much lately other than install a G-force handle on the trolling motor. I did score a new tiller handle for my 15hp motor I'd planned on using on it though. The knuckles on the original had gotten busted off from the handle bouncing around during hauling when I used to loan my old johnboat out (something that won't be happening with this one, everyone wants to borrow them but nobody wants to take ownership if they break something). I was going to just by the piece that runs through the handle that has the knuckle on the end, but I found the whole handle on Ebay for considerably less than what I was going to spend on that one piece. I'm hoping to get it out for it's maiden voyage this week. I want to use it a bit so I can decide how I want to do the layout for the deck and where I want things like tackle and battery storage before I build the deck. Plus, if there's any leaks they'll be much easier to fix before adding a deck.
  11. mmmm, bacon jerky.
  12. When you get the first big warming trend in the spring, you'll often experience a lot of cruisers. This fish are mainly warming themselves in the shallows, not really interested in feeding and generally very spooky. Looks to me like you caught a black crappie that was probably getting ready to, or maybe already in the process of spawning. There's a good chance that there's more by that laydown if you were to go back and target them.
  13. Welcome! I grew up right next to Manhattan. Lots of good fishing around there.

It worked great in the newly growing grass and around the docks. I'd have caught several more if it wasn't for the 40mph winds.
  15. I've been dealing with lots of prespawn fish but not really moving up much, just near spawning areas and feeding on slow moving stuff.

I've gotten a box from @Munkin @nighthawk25 and @Jig Man, along with my baits that are packed and ready to go.
  17. I have a big head, one size fits all/most hats rarely fit me.
  18. All kinds of creatures are surely taking advantage of all the nutrients being released into the water, and bass are taking advantage of those scavengers.
  19. Gave the tub her bath of the year. Needed it bad, it was had a Pigpen dust cloud coming off it even when we were rolling down the highway.
  20. We launched from Disney and ran to Duck last tournament I fished there and won it doing that. We caught fish all around Disney in practice too though, including some nice ones right around the ramp.
  21. The moving bait bite has been slow for me as well. A few on a spinnerbait, few on lipless, few on a wart, jerkbait has been the only "moving" bait bite I've had.
  22. I have a 7' ML/F Fenwick that is my BFS rod. I fish 1/8 and 3/16oz homemade jigs on it.
  23. Changes very little for me. We had winds howling Thursday night, gust near 40. I caught all my fish on a 3/8oz jig.
  24. 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 are my main sizes with the 1/4 getting used the most if I'm not flipping much cover.
