  1. Pretty sure I found the video elsewhere. That better have been the best tuna steaks he's ever eaten. Not a chance I'd be going hand to teeth with a couple reef sharks in open water to keep them away from a speared fish.
  2. I've been to Canada and Minnesota fishing for muskie, both time multiple day trips to not boat a single muskie. Nope, all 11 of the muskie I've caught in my life came from Missouri, including 9 of them on a 3 day trip to a lake in NE MO.
  3. That's when it fishes the best and you get the lake almost to yourself
  4. Never heard of Table Rock Lake??? Branson Missouri in the Ozark Mountains. Beautiful lake with all the things you asked for. Plus you can catch big largemouth, big smallmouth, big spotted bass, and even big meanmouth. I love Table Rock, but I think I'd probably have to pick Bull Shoals or Beaver Lake. Beaver has more of the bigger cities available, and I love fishing for stripers, but Bull Shoals has much more consistent bass fishing, as well as being near the White River where I could chase monster brown trout.
  5. For sure it is, but most things we buy are that we buy to chase a little green fish that we end up just throwing back anyways. The sprinkers are fun to fish, but even their base price is hard for me to spend on a frog. Still, I have 2 I paid the $14 for, and 1 that I traded a few crankbaits I never use for.
  6. Well a pack of Big EZ swimbaits isn't exactly cheap, nor are they durable. I've caught a couple dozen fish on one of my Sprinkers and it still has the original tail very much intact. Spending a little more for something that is going to last a lot longer, as well as functions better, should offset that price difference.
  7. Probably a wrap on one of the 130 KO's. Obviously not stock WP hooks.
  8. I've thrown them on a MH and a H. The heavy does a better job, but the MH does alright. Just use a lob cast and you'll be fine.
  9. Faster moving ones like a buzzbait can be. It drags the nose down too much on slower moving baits like a popper. I prefer braid for all my topwaters except a buzzbait.
  10. Caught the fish that won us big bass and sealed the deal on the win in our weeknight tournament last night on one of my black and blue bladed jigs with a sapphire blue pit boss trailer.
  11. You can buy Sprinker replacement tails, why not just buy those?
  12. Got the win and big bass in the weeknight tournament this week. Weigh in at 9:30, caught the big one at 9:14 on a homemade black and blue bladed jig.
  13. I do, but even the nice one I have is a far cry from the light provided by the sun. I used to, and plan on continuing once myboys are both sleeping through the night, night fish a lot. I'm sure I don't like trebles at night and also sure that I don't need them because my standard night fishing rotation does just fine
  14. I like Jacomo best of the KC area lakes on the MO side. Caught lots of nice fish out there.
  15. Same deal in my boat. Hard enough not getting hooked by a treble when I can see them during the day.
  16. I don't fish topwater at night except on rare occasions. If I do, it's a frog, buzzbait, or Slammer so I can feel the fish before I swing on them.
  17. Welcome!
  18. Their hooks are the main reason I wouldn't trust their swivels.
  19. There really isn't much a green sunfish won't attack. One of my favorite local lakes has so many shad that the sunfish get a pass from the predator fish, which makes them very bold I guess. Jigs, 10" worms, bladed jigs, buzzbaits, doesn't matter they attack it. The swimbait biters are the worst though.
  20. Matzuo is generally thought of as cheap, knockoff products. Never used their swivels, but I wouldn't put a lot of trust in them. Spro on the other hand, obviously has a well known and proven product.
  21. One of the lakes I fish for smallmouth has really clear water but I have no problems catching them on straight braid. Might make a difference to get a couple extra bites, but not enough for me to bother with tying a leader. Now if I was dragging bottom in the rocks and zebra mussels I would for the abrasion resistance.
  22. How big are you wanting to go? FWIW, I rarely overhand cast big swimbaits. They're almost always cast with a sidearm lob cast.
  23. X2, sometimes wonder why I carry any other colors. The Jr especially if I'm around smallmouth.
