  1. It's the actual presentation and thought process that most just refer to as the Ned rig.
  2. They're just redoing it. It's the KastKing Sharky III now.
  3. I catch all kinds of different species of fish while fishing for bass. Channel cats, green sunfish, and drum are the most common bycatch. Channel cat and sunfish will hit anything, and I've caught drum on every variety of bait except topwater. During the winter months I'll catch lots of white bass and wipers too. Blue cat on a jerkbait Flathead on a beaver Drum on a jerkbait Wiper on a swimbait Warmouth on a beaver Sauger on a squarebill Striper on a Keitech. Muskie on a beaver Channel cat on a jerkbait
  4. The Chiefs did little to improve during the offseason. Their "phenomenal", defense couldn't stop the run to save their lives. They cut their only real veteran receiver and fired their offensive coordinator after training camp started. Last year they got some really flukey wins (Peters stealing the ball from the receiver VS Carolina, Berry's 2pt interception return VS the Falcons). I doubt they win the division, with the return of Derick Carr to the Raiders, and I'd be surprised if they got 10 wins and maybe another Wild Card spot so they can go 1 and done for the umpteenth time.
  5. Don't you hate it when you're fishing down a bank and someone else decides they need to fish there worse than you do?
  6. Sorry to hear about that. My wife's grandma is currently dealing with it as well.
  7. You don't need anything special for them. Pick the reel that feels best to you and go with it.
  8. I don't usually trim mine unless I want them to really walk in place. It does make a noticeable difference if you trim them different lengths though.
  9. All of them, the correct answer is you need all of them
  10. Not on purpose I haven't.
  11. It says right on the bag not to mix with other plastics and to keep in the original package. I have dozens of bags of Zman and Strike King 3X plastics that have been stored in my boat for several years now in triple digit to below zero temps. I have yet to have a single bag melt together. I've had them stick together, mainly the ZinkerZ, but they pull apart easily and fish just the same as always. Mine are all stored in their original packages, in a gallon ziplock together in my boat's storage.
  12. My Big Game Prowler II is rated to 600 pounds. I take myself (220 pounds), my Golden Retriever (75 pounds), plus my rods and a tackle bag and never feel loaded down.
  13. River smallies are always thinner. They have to be athletes, fighting the current from the time they're born until the day they die. Makes them strong, but also prevents them from getting as big.
  14. Pulling up to the ramp and seeing the lot empty. Getting slack lined on a bladed jig. Them big girls that live in bad places that make you work to get them out. Taking my son fishing.
  15. 1/4oz head would be worthless in most of the places I fish a Ned rig. It would be snagged in the rocks or buried in the grass. It's hard to convince bass guys to go light enough, or believe that the Zman baits really make a difference, but once guys actually give it a try they're usually pretty surprised how big of a difference it makes.
  16. I've caught fish in 40' of water on a 1/16oz Ned rig on Beaver Lake in Arkansas. Your patience is a big deciding factor in what weight will get a bait down some days. A 1/4oz is what I use 80% of the time for standard Texas rigging. 3/4oz is the heaviest I've ever needed to go around here, but that was for flipping grass.
  17. I'd say that's a good number when the fishing is good. Once it's tough like now during the heat of the summer it's probably more like 5% catch 95% of the fish.
  18. Did you do any work on the internals of the motor? I switched the polarity once when I replaced the seals in the motor.
  19. Don't feel bad, the last 2 weeks have been pretty awful for me too. Even at the lakes that I go to when I need a slump buster have been disappointing at best. Thankfully had a good tournament in the mix or I'd be thinking about selling the boat.
  20. There used to be a running report on Wyco but once I moved out of the county and stopped fishing it the thread died out. I like fishing the lake, but it's too expensive and an hour drive for me now. I fished it once last year and caught a bunch of fish with the largest being a 19.5" smallmouth. The weeds were just starting to grow when I stopped fishing it regularly. Used to fish the Wednesday night tournaments and did pretty well in those. There are big fish out there, but they're not dumb. My biggest largemouth was 6.5 and my biggest smallmouth was 4.25. Douglas was the Thursday night lake last week. I had a good one right before weigh in that gave us a little over 11 pounds. I fished Lexington from my yak for a few hours Monday and did fairly well flipping the pads. Fished Hillsdale for a couple hours from the boat and it was terrible. Tried Middle Creek for the first time in over a decade and did much better than the first time I fished it, but that's not saying much since last time I caught 2 all day. I had around 10 fish in 3 hours out there with maybe one over 2 pounds. Fish are healthy looking, just not very big.

  22. Yeah, if that's the TW date, you'll be lucky to get it in August. I've waited nearly a year, and see in stock dates pushed back multiple times more than once for hard to get items.
