  1. A trip my wife would love to make. Not something I'm interested in, but will probably make it some day for her to enjoy.
  2. Opossums are nasty, smelly animals, but they eat tons of bad bugs and dead animals so I guess they serve a purpose. One thing is for sure, they're not cute.
  3. Fish that live in turbid water are going to adapt to finding prey in ways other than by sight. Usually, they're going to use vibration as a big factor in how they find food. Crankbaits and spinnerbaits would be a couple good options. As for a bait being too big, I catch smallies on 7" glidebaits, they're not scared of big baits.
  4. Welcome! Those are some funny looking bass in some of those pictures
  5. Yes, they work in the same molds as the 570's, plus they're black nickel plated instead of bronze. Like others said, I really don't set the hook with my setup. It's either just a lift hookset, or usually I'll just reel into them. That little hook digs so easily that a hooksets often isn't required. I agree Zman makes a great product, but the Shroomz head needs a better hook, especially for what they cost. I've been in the boat with guys who've had then break new out of the package on several occasions. I've caught fish over 20 pounds on the hooks I'm usingand the only time I've seen one break was when it was left rigged for weeks and the salt damaged the hook.
  6. The hooks on the Zman heads are not very great. I pour my own heads and lose very few fish. I fish mine on a 6' 10" ML/XF with a 30 size fast retrieve spinning reel, 24lb glIss with an 8 or 10 pound leader. The hook I use in a #2 or #1 Eagle Claw Lil Nasty and they are nasty.
  7. Grass carp do more harm than good. They spread the weeds more than control them and do very little to control the moss that most people buy them for.
  8. Yep. They had a lot of trouble connecting with my buzzbait last week, but I got these two 18"+ keepers on a black/blue laminate senko on the follow up.
  9. I haven't hunted squirrels in years, but as a deer hunter, these crack me up.
  10. Welcome!
  11. Small grass carp. They school up and sit just below the surface like that all the time around here.

  13. Redeye are river bass, but do not reside where you caught that fish. Spotted bass do live there and are commonly found in rivers and streams though.
  14. The middle one is what our bluegill look like. The bottom one is the only one I'm unsure about, the ear flap is awfully long for a standard bluegill.
  15. Longear, bluegill, bluegill
  16. It wasn't in heavy cover, but it was a pretty heavy load and my 70XG handled it flawlessly in only about 10 minutes.
  17. 24lb Gliss has smaller diameter than 5lb mono fwiw. I had a hard time with the 4lb/1lb diameter PP. About every half hour it would blow up into a wind knot that had to be cut and retied.
  18. I just caught my PB drum this summer on a BPS Speed Shad. Drum were about all I could catch on it, big ones, and they were hammering it and pulling hard.
  19. 30 years into it and I haven't yet. No idea what I'd do if I didn't fish all the time.
