  1. Middle one with some chartreuse dye on the tails would be a killer here.
  2. Put them on a 4/0 EWG or straight shank with a 1/4-3/8 ounce bullet weight and flip them into any likely fish holding areas.
  3. I agree with the suggestions to lose the Gliss for swimbaits. That Pline will work just fine but I normally opt for 20lb Big Game. Don't feel too bad though, I recently went through a similar experience, only I caught mine on my Virb. Mine was my fault as well for not checking my knot after just tying my brand new Shine Glide on.
  4. Are you sure there's no tournaments or clubs near you? In Central Florida? I found 35 scheduled tournaments between now and the 31st in a Google search for "Bass tournaments in Central Florida". That was on the first page that I clicked on. You're in one of the best possible locations to be a bass fisherman and try to start a career since you can fish year round. I think you may need to search a little more for a local club. Maybe find out if your school has any interest in starting a club/team? Highschool fishing seems to really be a thing anymore. Getting things done like starting a fishing club at your school would be a great thing to add to a resume.
  5. I know a few guys that are big fans of the Pompadour.
  6. I use to have one that I got from one of the Wednesday night guys, may still have it. That's the only one I've ever seen.
  7. I believe this topic is just a little too sensitive of an area for us to delve into any further. I know it was an attempt to help those that may be dealing with their own inner demons or with the unforeseen loss of someone close to them, but it really isn't something that can be explained or understood as it really varies so widely from person to person. If you need help, get it please, that is all. LOCKDOWN!
  8. I usually have Red Label fluoro on my jig and T rig rods. I do have at least one with Big Game though. I don't have any spinning rods spooled with fluoro anymore. All of them are braid with fluoro leaders except one I use for casting small cranks.
  9. Thanks for the help guys! Got some warm weather this week so I'm going to get it taken care of before we go into the deep freeze for the winter!
  10. It's pretty tough to beat a 1/8oz Little Cleo around here. If I'm not fishing one of those, then I'm using a homemade or Turner Jones micro jig under a bobber.
  11. All I've ever done is put new hooks on them and put them back in the box.
  12. What color works with other plastics for you? That would be a good starting point. Like 5fish said though, when in doubt, green pumpkin.
  13. Screwlock hooks help a ton if you're T-rigging them also. I caught an unheard of 5 fish off a single Senko last Thursday before I got tired of catching dinks and went back to real fishing
  14. Just FYI, there's a worm nose mold that goes down to 1/16oz that doesn't have a collar (even easier to glue it to the head). It's the mold I use to pour mine. Just leave out the screw lock, or keep it on if you don't use Zman plastics. http://store.do-itmolds.com/Worm-Nose-Jig-wScrew-Locbr116-18-316-14-516-38_p_559.html
  15. With most Midwest Finesse retrieves, the bait never hits the bottom, the only exception would be deadsticking it. I fish a Ned a lot and it rarely touches the bottom. Of all the times I've been on the water the same time as Mr. Kehde, I rarely see him stop moving the bait long enough for it to have a chance to settle to the bottom either. I believe the main reason for the mushroom head is that it fits flush with the bait best, and also is one of the few lightweight, shorter shank jigheads that is suitable for bass fishing (as the OP is discovering).
  16. Loved my 22-250, regret selling it to this day.
  17. I think you're right for the most part. I know there's some states that it's illegal, which is why Mark Menendez DQ'd himself in one this year for hooking a fish outside the mouth. On the other hand, I've watched KVD catch one in the dorsal fin on a crankbait and toss it in the livewell.
  18. Chris Beemer and I had a good day at Wolf Creek Thursday. https://youtu.be/-rlnxigJpXY
  19. I wish those were mine. Those are Jig Man's screenshots.
  20. I have one edge in one of my rod lockers that the carpet is starting to peel away from the fiberglass a little bit every time I open it. Probably about a foot long and maybe 2" wide section. What would be my best option to use to glue it back down?
  21. Depends on what I'm fishing on the shakyhead. I pour all my own but for worms or baits I'm going to do more hopping and shaking, I use a regular ball head with a screwlock. For baits I'm going to drag, I opt for the football head with a screwlock. Then for the big baits, I go with a swinging football head (not exactly a shakyhead, but pretty similar and hook options are pretty limitless). If I was still buying them, it would be the Megastrike shakyheads without question.
  22. Shad has done well for me but I think it's more about the commotion than the color.
  23. Usually less than 10' but have fished it do to 20+ if need be.
