  1. Bigger than the biggest largemouth I've caught recently that was an inch shorter and 2 inches less in circumference and that fish weighed 7.76, so I'd guess around 8.5-9 pounds. After reading your FB post though I see I was a little off.
  2. Not that there was many highlights (and it was too dark to get my 1 decent fish I caught all night on camera), but the few good fish we caught we really had to grind for. I caught 6 fish all night (3 shorts under 12", 2 14oz fish, and a 2lb 3oz bass 20 minutes before weigh in), and I think Coty caught 4 or 5 but he got the right bites thankfully.
  3. Nope, I can't catch fish with them either way
  4. The search function at the top of the page will narrow it down for you. I use it to try to clean up post for items that are sold to prevent members from wading through any of those post and it's a very efficient way to find post with certain keywords. The "Other Species" forum already doesn't get much traffic as it is. I'm an avid multispecies angler but I like it how it is because I like reading about everyone's catches without having to click through 10 different subcategories.
  5. Pretty much the only way I fish a Hula Grub. Only fish them at a couple of lakes but it's a deadly way to present them.
  6. I have had some success on the Spro Rat but I'm looking forward to the smaller sizes also. The big one is great but a lot of our baitfish are pretty small right now and I'd also love a smaller one to toss at some smallies.
  7. I use a Ethos Micro from Academy in a 7' 3" H/F that will fish any of those frogs or toads you listed and has the backbone to a big fish and a bunch of slop in. Find them when they're on sale and you can get one for around $60 but even at full price they're only $80.
  8. Swim a grub, drag a tube, as much as I hate to fish them you can reach a long ways with a C rig.
  9. That is a monster rainbow! I've caught them on several bass lures but never a spinnerbait, can't say I'm real surprised by it though. Sounds like a great day on the water!
  10. TRD, Zinkerz, Hula Stickz, Finesse wormz, finesse minnowz, all great on a Ned. Other baits will work but the Elastec baits are head and shoulders better for the rig.
  11. Going night fishing tonight if anyone is interested.
  12. It's not the action, it's the profile. Finesse jigs excel in clear water and for finicky fish or when they're targeting smaller forage. All of our local lakes get pounded and are very small with poor bass populations, so a finesse jig is often a great option as it was this past Friday.
  13. PB's are great and you don't want to jump straight to a 10 pounder, then you have so much less to shoot for.
  14. My wife is the typical mother hen (obviously from her comments in the video), and some of the gross boy stuff is hard for her to deal with, so I do my best to encourage the gross boy behavior I promise he would have tried to bite it if given the chance. He'll try to eat anything we don't really want him to. Part of the deal when we decided to have a baby was I got to choose the name for a boy and she got to choose the name for a girl, within reason of course. I don't think she was completely sold on it at first but now she loves it.
  15. Buzzbait, popper, and a spook are my favorites.
  16. Glass rods and good trebles, and you'll still lose fish, just part of the game when it comes to cranking unfortunately.
  17. It'll fish! wrap doesn't look bad at all.
  18. Obviously a situation near and dear to my heart. Got a lot of stuff I'd like to say about it but I'll just let it be. RIP brother, we'll take the watch from here.
