He's still a ways away from catching his "own" fish, but it certainly seems like Lake is pretty interested in fishing already A few minutes later while I was trying to hook another fish for Lake to fight, I went and did what I had joking said would probably happen while I was messing around with that little Dock Demon.

Finally got the video from Gardner Thursday night to upload. Of course not as impressive knowing we needed at least 2 more big bites to even contend for first place, but still worth watching. Had to throw some music in the first portion. Between the frustration of not getting any bites, doing our best Ike yelling at the dog at Grand impressions, and the disbelief of catching 2 fish over 3 pounds off the same dock at Gardner, there was a lot of foul language flying around the boat. And if anyone wants to know how to catch dinks at Olathe.

Use to hunt them all the time with a single shot, open site .22. You learn to take your time and pick your shot carefully when you only get 1 try. I still whack a few with my bow every year while I'm deer hunting, there's only so much getting barked at I can take.

The BPS and Cabela's cranks are nowhere near as good as the Academy baits. I have all 3 stores within 30 minutes and have fished all extensively, the H20 blows the other 2 out of the water and they cost less!

I must just have a good tube. I've used mine on 100+ degree days and it's stayed firm. I haven't tried Fish Sticks either, haven't had any reason to. I don't use scent products so much for attracting fish or getting them to hold on longer as I do for lubricating my bait so it slips through their teeth easier, which Megastrike does a great job of doing.

Down to $2.49 here now, just dropped 6 cents yesterday.

Congrats! I don't get out fishing with my dad nearly often enough. I'm hoping our schedules will line up soon so I can get him back on the water before long.

I use a 7' 3" H/F Ethos Micro for my frog rod, paired with a 200E7 and 50lb Sufix 832. By far the best frog rod I've ever owned and only $80 at full price. I used it for a jig/plastics rod before and it works just fine, wouldn't use it for cranking though.

Under perfect conditions it will move it. If there's much wind at all you'll be in trouble though. It's better than nothing if that's your only option.

I make my own, like a lot of guys do anymore. Why try to find one that is "good enough", when I can build exactly what I want? If I was buying jigs it would be from Seibert's no doubt. I have no idea how he sells the quality of jigs he does for those prices.

I caught the same humpback bass off the same stump on the same black and blue jig twice in the same day a few hours apart. I broke one off on a wacky rig earlier this year, fired a cast back to the same spot and caught him on a senko with my other bait still in his mouth. Last year my buddy broke off a smallmouth. A couple hours later I caught it with his bait still in it's mouth with the exact same bait. They're not as smart as we give them credit for sometimes.

That's the way it works every time until you fish on Wednesday night.

Don't give up on it by the end of October. November and December are really good months for the big fish, just not the numbers. Drew caught this 4+ fishing with me on December 5th a few years ago.

Absolutely, they even have pretty decent hooks on them. I fish them a lot because I like to crank nasty stuff so if I lose one it's not a big deal. All their hard baits are good honestly.

They were $80 new I believe so you did good at that price.

Is your wire a heavy enough gauge and are your fuses big enough? You can burn a fuse or connection up easily if those things aren't right.

St Croix makes heavy action spinning rods in the Premier lineup I'm positive of that and they are a very heavy action rod for a spinning rod. Just looked at their website and they ever have a 7' XH spinning rod in a Premier that's rated up to 25lb test and 2ozs.

Flooding is how a lot of fish move around. That's how the whole Asian carp mess got started.
