Gift For Mom When Son Goes To College?
All those times she had to put someone else's needs in front of her own, I would think a spa day would be great. A day where she gets to be the main focus point.

Bps Hooks
I've had good success with the H2O brand worm hook from Academy. You roll a point occasionally but for $5 for a 20 pack it's not a big deal to throw it away and tie on a new one.

Fluorocarbon
Sunline or Seaguar for me.

New Here, From Shawnee, Ks.
Pinnacle isn't a sponsor right now, and I'm not giving up my Optimus LTE. Welcome KSBassMan95! Probably one of the tightest groups you'll find on the board is right here with the KC area guys.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
If anyone wants to fish tomorrow I've got an empty seat. Not sure where I'm going yet, thinking Pleasanton, La Cygne, or Wabaunsee.

Skipping Jig
I have several jig rods, I can skip with any of them if my reel is set to skip with them. They range from 6' 10" MH/F to 7' 6" H/F.

Braid Line Keeps On Breaking??
Palomar knot works just fine with braid for me. Straight braid for toothy critters does not. Last muskie I caught was flipping for bass with straight braid. Miracle I got her in the net but once she head shook and that line hit her teeth it parted like sewing thread, and that was 50lb. I also agree with ditching the snap/swivel. Use a snap if you must, but not both.

Gardner is a great lake for kids if you have a house out there or fishing from a boat. It's loaded with big bluegill, green sunfish, and warmouth.

Wacky Rig Question?
Learn to watch your line. A lot of wacky rig bites can be detected before they're ever felt just by watching the line. Using a braid main line with a fluoro leader makes this much easier. Sometimes the line with "jump", other times it will stop falling before it should, sometimes it speeds way up. Also check out the link on here on how to unhook deep hooked fish. That little hook is very easy to remove even when they're hooked deep. Pinching down the barb also makes removing the hook easier. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/12981-how-do-i-remove-a-hook-a-bass-has-swallowed/page-2

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Gardner is certainly not the best lake in the area but it has it's moments. I live 5 minutes from the ramp and never fish it because it can be so dang tough more often than not.

Power Pro Red Line Knot Issues
I use the same line on my channel cat rods and have zero knot issues catching way bigger, stronger fish than any bass anywhere. Often hooking them in bad places where I have to horse them out too. You got a bad spool or something. I tie direct with mine using a palomar knot.

Tried The Oh So Mighty Senko
I probably went through a whole bag this past week fishing a wacky rig that just cast off.

Rapala Scatter Rap Crankbait
One of the biggest things I've noticed with these things, when they're hitting them, they're absolutely crushing them. Maybe it's just me, but that's been the case every time I've done well with them.

Carp Bait
It's bowfishing, bow-fishing Honestly, I catch a lot of carp when I choose to target them with very small jigs. The lakes around here are loaded with big carp, they aren't hard to catch on any of the typical carp baits.

Flutter Spoon Questions
I want a flutter spoon to work for me so badly, but I just isn't happening. I've caught lots of whites and wipers, but zero largemouth, smallmouth, or spots. I can catch them on a regular jigging spoon, but no dice on the flutter spoon. I think it's because we just don't have the concentrations of fish and our offshore fishing isn't as good as most lakes that they seem to work well on.
