  1. Welcome!
  2. Welcome!
  3. Not a chance I'm accepting $30 in pennies.
  4. I fished it quite a bit and managed 1 dink smallie with one of mine. We had a good jerkbait bite this spring too.
  5. Guys talk bad about it or are uncertain, then I take them fishing and by the end of the day it's like
  6. It's your fish to do with as you please. I just ask that you (and everyone else), consider selective harvest when you do so. Keeping the smaller ones and turning the big fish loose and keeping the smaller ones is beneficial to the water they came from and yourself as the smaller ones taste better and have fewer toxins in them.I'm not trying to start a flame war on keeping bass and your post are appreciated as you're one of the only ones from the other side of the state line. Obviously you know what you're doing from the pictures you've posted. My post was simply a question. If you'd like some recommendations on lakes that need some bass removed I'd be glad to name some. Heck I'll meet you at a couple of them and clean my 5 for you too.
  7. I have 3 still in the package, 2 sexy shad and 1 sexy herring.
  8. And that is why I carry, especially if I'm by myself.
  9. It works great for those also, especially the small to mid sized ones but I've fished full size spooks on it too.
  10. Have to keep it comfortable with a toddler in the house, nobody likes a cranky baby. Once it starts getting above 80 for highs, ours goes on.
  11. Rage Craw, Havoc Pit Boss, Zoom Trick Worm, Zoom Ol' Monster, Zoom Baby Brush Hog, Zman Diesel MinnowZ, Netbait B bug. There's seriously way too many that I like to narrow it down much.
  12. cheat CHēt/ verb gerund or present participle: cheating 1. act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination. They would be gaining an unfair advantage IMO by gaining extra fishing time, therefore it would be cheating.
  13. Catfish guys use them to catch skipjacks at times. I'm sure you could use them for bluegills or perch but a lot of states have limits on the number of hooks you can have at a time. In Kansas we can only have 2 hooks so they're illegal.
  14. Muck boots are what I wear all winter long and anytime I'm in tall grass on the bank.
  15. The Academys by me both had King Shads and Sexy Swimmers for that price. I bought a bunch of King Shads. I never liked the Sexy Swimmers but I have no doubt they'd have worked if I'd found the right situation.
  16. Buy better jigheads or use lighter line/rods. I rarely bend a hook and have never had one dull. The only time I see it happen is when someone is setting the hook like they're flipping mats or using too stout of a rod.
  17. Welcome!
  18. Just take them off the hook. They're plenty durable to be able to rig them up several times without and issue. They're pretty much the only bait I'll put back in the package after using them. I've also found that if one gets bent or something, that I can leave them sitting out for a couple days in the garage out of the package and they'll fix themselves.
  19. I use that exact Avid you're talking about for poppers and smaller jerkbaits (78 pointers, RC STX Jrs), you will not find a better rod for those baits IMO.
  20. Full sized brush hog on a big jig is a good way to target just the big girls.
