  1. I've got a buddy that lives on a private lake out there with tiger bass in it, frog fishing heaven.
  2. The Rage Craw is my favorite, followed by the Menace.
  3. I don't honestly remember what my 5 biggest fish I weighed in during tournaments weighed. My biggest 5 fish combined would have gone 40lbs 12ozs. My biggest single day limit (other than Mexico), was 30 pounds 2 ounces on a cold February day several years ago in Eastern Kansas. 10lb 2oz 8lb 8oz 8lb 8oz Haven't been able to find the picture of this one, also from Mexico but on my second trip. 7lb 14oz 7lb 12oz

  7. Awesome on a shakyhead. Never tried them like a senko though.
  8. It's when a bait doesn't follow a straight line during the retrieve but instead kicks off to one side or the other without deflecting off of anything.
  9. That's interesting. I actually find the unbent blade to run the deepest (referring to natural running depth, not by increasing or decreasing speed, rod tip height, line size, ect.). It also had the least amount of vibration, but did hunt the most. The coffin style (original chatterbait), ran the shallowest, but everything else is spot on. The bent blade was what I found to be the best of all worlds with it's strong vibration, good hunting action, and how easy it was to adjust it's running depth. I'm sure the amount of bend, angle of the bend, distance from the end of the blade, split ring vs. no split ring, along with several other factors effect the action of the bait. Just shows how important experimenting can be in the fishing world

I'm sure they would work, although it's going to hinder some of the action and be more difficult to hook a fish. This was my solution to snaggy areas before I started pouring my own weedless mushroom heads. 1/8oz swinging football head with a 2/0 short shank EWG Owner rigging hook.
  11. $30 is pocket change in the swimbait world. I haven't broke the $100 mark for a bait yet, but I've been close a couple times.
  12. Man if someone knew the answer to that question they'd be the best bass angler in the world! Patterns are constantly changing, even if ever so slightly. Being able to recognize that and make the appropriate changes are one of the hardest things to do in fishing.
  13. Never fished Norfork, but thought about trying it sometime. Always end up at Bull instead. Looks like a good day to be on the water!
  14. Green pumpkin or watermelon with just the tip of the tail dipped in some chartreuse JJ's does a great job. A Lime-Purple Passion Havoc Pit Boss with the tip of the tail dipped in chartreuse JJ's is one of my favorite baits to pitch into grass when they're eating baby bluegills.
  15. I've heard good things about Eureka, including some very large fish. Never have made it down there but maybe someday.
  16. I do it with my Stratos on some of our trolling motor only lakes. Simpliest answer for me, they're closer than the big lakes, so if I only have a few hours I get more fishing time that way. Maybe the fishing was more than just okay for them, or maybe they grew up fishing them so they're out there for the nostalgia.
  17. Pouring now on top of our already flooded lakes. My favorite smallie lake was 4.5' high before this rain started, and they're talking about good chances of rain through Tuesday.
  18. Good for you taking the step and talking to someone. One very sad and unfortunate part about my line of work is I think a lot of guys feel like it's a sign of weakness to ask for help when your mind starts wandering to dark places, when in reality it should be a sign of strength. I've been around for too many co-workers who couldn't take it anymore and didn't ask for help. Hopefully you'll get the help you need to get yourself where you need to be.
  19. Winner, winner. LOCKDOWN!!
  20. Bass don't have mirrors, they have no way of knowing and no perception of how big they are. Only way they find out what they can or can't eat is by trial and error, just ask this guy that slammed into my Dep's 175 SS at Beaver Lake.
