Crazy to think how many times I've driven over that car and never noticed it because I'm usually trying to decide where I'm headed instead of watching my depthfinder.

I had one but wasn't a fan. Looked good in the water but never produced very well.

However is comfortable to you. My pinkie is the only finger behind the reel seat for me.

Bass, unless from clean, cold water and of smaller size, taste awful, period. I grew up eating fish out of necessity, bass of all sizes included. Bass was by far one of the nastiest things I've had to eat, and I've eaten some nasty stuff. The bass I've eaten are extremely fishy tasting with a strong flavor of what I imagine moss would taste like mixed in. Frying them is about the only way I've ever had them and I've had them that way by my dad, mom, and both grandmas so it isn't just my imagination. I have no problem with someone who likes to eat them, but to say that someone doesn't know how to fry fish because they think a fish taste bad is ridiculous.

I've never had much luck when they're spawning, like it sounds like you ran into. While carp are feeding in an area I have had good success, especially for smallmouth for some reason.

I don't make rods but my baits just used my first initial and my buddies initial that helped me get started and still helps me make them. The nice part is we both have the same first initial so there wasn't any disagreement about whose name should go first

I fished with a guy once who swore by letting a buzzbait settle to the bottom, then cranking it a few times and killing it. He caught several fish doing it that day and had pictures of a 10 pounder he'd caught doing it (nearly unheard of in KS but the picture looked legit). I've also heard people catching fish on buzzbaits cranking them in below the surface like a spinnerbait.

Red works well for me in stained to muddy water, but I don't think a bass even has the ability to feel anger. I'm guessing it's mainly because they eat so many craws.

Congrats on the purchase! I bought a pair of 93SVs for my boat a few months ago and I'm still blown away with what I can see and how clear it is.

Being able to catch more fish on a single bait than you can with a whole bag of a similar bait made of regular plastic is a good enough reason for me. Sometimes the best way isn't the easy way.

You shouldn't be getting memory bad enough to need to use anything with 4lb test.

Another vote for the Sunline. I've been really pleased with the stuff and it's the same price as fluoro but handles much nicer.

Buy baits that are handmade from guys turning baits in their garages. Don't forget Eagle Claw hooks in your American made supplies. They've revamped their hooks big time.

Unless a fish has a real negative impact on a fishery (Asian Carp), it's really hard to classify it as a true trash fish. Our lakes are overpopulated with common carp to the point the state has programs to remove large numbers. There is so many that they are actually effecting how muddy the water is in some lakes because of their rooting around the bottom and eating plants that hold the bottom and shorelines together and reduce runoff.

The baitfish are actually bigger first thing in the spring than they will be a little later in spring after all the fish have spawned. Then they're larger late in the fall again. I don't have a set rule that I follow selecting squarebill size though.
