  1. Are you talking for like tipping a plain jighead with a plastic bait or for selecting a certain jighead style for a skirted jig?
  2. Stuff like that with our military men and women gets me every time. God bless those that give up their freedom so that we may enjoy ours.
  3. Good for you for taking the responsibility to get yourself right. It's not an easy thing to do and neither is sticking to it. Alcohol abuse is a common problem in my family so I pretty much just avoid it all together.
  4. Academy had a bunch on sale for $2 a piece for Black Friday, all my rods have covers for them now. The Bass Pro ones aren't bad either. They must have shortened them up, I have a 7' 8" deep cranking rod with one of their black covers and it reaches the bill of my crankbait when it's on the keeper right in front of the reel.
  5. White River fingerless fleece gloves from Bass Pro.
  6. Dep's Bullshooter Jr.
  7. I build lures and fish the power plant lakes
  8. We've considered Bone Creek before and it could be a good lake but it has some drawbacks. If the fishing is tough there, it's really tough. There's not much to fall back on there versus other lakes where you have several species of fish that guys could go chase if the bass fishing is tough. The roads getting there suck, we lose guys because they aren't going to pull their boats down those nasty dirt roads. If you don't like flipping trees you're gonna have a bad time. Just a few of the reason in the past why it's been shot down but we can discuss it for sure on Friday. I'm back and we're still on for Friday the 29th if everyone is still in. No need to boat shop anymore, there's one sitting in my driveway now
  9. They're all built on jigs I poured and tied myself.
  10. Well, change of plans again, I'm heading to Iowa! Thank you Chris Schauer for the suggestion! You can expect a referral bonus in your account sometime
  11. Well with the bank not being able to get their shhhhhhhh together, I might be on the way to Iowa next Friday when we were planning on meeting up. Would we be alright if we moved it up to Wednesday instead? Either that or just push it back a week.
  12. I ground a weedguard pin down so it's flush with the edge of the mold.
  13. For really small jerkbaits, like a #10 Xrap or 65 pointer, I've found my dropshot rod works well (6' 10" ML/XF). Little bit bigger baits I switch to a 6' 8" M/F. I don't like fluoro with jerkbaits so can't comment on that part.
  14. Keitech and Havoc Grass Pig Jr.
  15. I do tons of colors, one of my favorite baits to fish so when I see a need for a new color I go home and make it I've done lots of colors that I don't have pictures of, but here's a few of them.
  16. I got hit in the forehead by a 1/2oz bell sinker once when I was catfishing. The link broke at the top leader knot like it should, but that turned my line into a sling shot and the sinkers aim was true right at the dummy that was pulling the line straight towards him. It knocked me over backwards and put a big knot on my forehead.
  17. I was going to go and boat shop but may not need to now.
  18. Went up .10 here yesterday, still $1.86.
  19. They're sharper and stronger, about the same size though. The 3XD isn't a very big bait, I'd worry about a bigger hook messing with the action.
  20. Started out mowing 20 acres once a week when I was 13 so I could afford to make a trip to Canada with my dad. Next 2 years I worked doing basic labor work for a clubhouse on a semi-private lake. When I turned 16 I started working in the deli in Cabela's, 18 I transferred to the fishing department. 19 I started construction while keeping the Cabela's deal part time, working 6 days a week. When I turned 21 I got into law enforcement and that's what I've been doing ever since. There's work out there for you, just have to find it
  21. Mine have #6 Owner ST36s on them.
