  1. That first picture looks like a terrible shop to me. As for a snapping turtle biting your finger/arm off. Not saying it isn't going to put you in a world of hurt, but the chances of them taking even a finger off is pretty unlikely. Now a beaver is a whole different story.
  2. This thread has been cleaned up of several post that added nothing of any value. If you want to add something useful to the topic, feel free. If you want to add more of the junk that was removed, don't.
  3. I've owned different variations of all 3. I'd go with the Rage if I had to pick one out of them. I had a 7' 1" MH/F that made a pretty good jig/Trig rod while I had it.
  4. 6" Weedless 8" Still looking for that big bite on one.
  5. I've also had good success with very lightly weighted plastics, popping them sharply out of the grass and allowing them to fall back into it.
  6. I like them, haven't found a bad color yet. The fish in my avatar ate a chart/black back Fat John.
  7. I feel like I get better action with the split ring because the bait has more freedom of movement and it allows my bait to kick out occasionally like I like them to. I don't know about the Arky mold, but it works with the other 3 molds I use to make them. I use the split rings from Barlow's without any major problems. You'll get a bad one occasionally or bend one open but it's not a constant problem.
  8. Welcome and very nice swimbait bass!
  9. Yes, sticking with Thursdays, sorry Drew, we were going to lose 4 boaters if we changed to Wednesdays. I'll send you a PM with more info.
  10. Actually more exciting than I'd hoped, good looking bait.
  11. Getting ahold of a big blue cat is the worst, way more bite strength than a flathead or Wels. My grandpa used to noodle just for snapping turtles. They can't bite your finger off but will take a chunk out of you. Beavers and old fishing hooks were always my main concern. Lots of guys set limb and trolines in the same areas noodles use and if you get stuck on a big hook on setline cord, you're in big trouble.
  12. That's a pretty good looking old ride.
  13. Any of you guys interested in the spring get together or weeknight meets, we're having a meeting at Johnny's BBQ in Olathe tonight at 6.
  14. See you guys at Johnny's tonight at 6.
  15. We did a 3 fish bag that tournament. Peter and I won with a whopping 2.74 I think including the kicker of 1.1 pounds!
  16. I almost went to Lone Star yesterday, but decided not to because of the wind and only getting 3 hours of sleep the night before. I'm going to take my boat somewhere to get the impeller and spark plugs done on it before it gets nice out, otherwise I have a feeling I'll have to do it right in the middle of the good bite later this spring. Probably look into having a Hot Foot installed too
  17. Yeah it's all inside the storage compartments in the front. There's enough room in them that both the back storage compartments are empty for whoever is riding with me.
  18. Never heard that one. I've always ran on plane at several state lakes and never had a GW say anything to me.
  19. Welcome to the forum! If you haven't checked out the KC area thread, I highly suggest it. Several of the guys on there get down to the pits, Bone Creek, Big Hill, Cedar Creek, and Ft. Scott a few times every year. Always good to have reports from all over the area too if you feel like offering reports from down that direction. You can also feel free to check out our get together thread and join us for our area meet and greet fishing get togethers, usually have at least 2 every year.
  20. Collecting all the stuff is part of the fun isn't it? At least that's how I'm going to justify this Bullshooter Jr. if I win the bid
  21. Biggest issue is going to be getting it to load during the cast.
  22. Flat would be a Little John. Silent I'd go with a KVD 1.5 or LC 1.5.
  23. Also drive a Tundra, 14 without the boat, 12-13 with it.
