  1. If someone offers me to ride their boat, I will grab it. Majority of the time, its the bank that I have to settle for.
  2. I do not baby my fishing arseiels, I got some SV103, That's the way, I do not baby them cuz I like to FISH HARD but I do take care of them.
  3. I haven’t received anything in the mail yet, but I did come across the flyer online. @GRiver I’ll admit I developed some expertise early on. Now, every financial move is subject to intense debate at home where my wife serves as both Congress and the Treasury Department. March 5th, this will be me at BPS:
  4. @bishoptf I wasn’t expecting such a quick turnaround! Looks like I know what to look for on eBay. Thank you so much for sharing that information to get the ball rolling.
  5. No I dont have a caliper myself (added to my "wish list") and I do have the CLASSIC BASS PRO QUALIFIER PQX10SHD (7.1.1) Would prefer to go ceramic method but just need something to make it work again. Thanks in advance.
  6. Bring this up from the dead .... Glad I came across this thread — it looks like I’m having the same issue with one of the reels I just purchased off ebay. One works perfectly, but the other seems to get stuck at a certain point. I can turn this one into part replacement since it was only $28 busk for both 7.1.1. It’s helpful to know that I can order the part (pawl and worm gear) from eReplacement if needed. I’ve tried reaching out to BPS Reel/Rod customer service and left a few messages, but unfortunately haven’t received a response. any tips @bishoptf that I can get a hold of them :)
  7. I’ll be strategically reallocating assets from my highly confidential personal reserve account (also known as the “slush fund”) to execute a discreet, all-cash acquisition—thus eliminating the need to prepare a formal budget presentation explaining why there’s a charge from BPS.
  8. Thought they would be out by now. Since I believe that the spring classic starts on the 5th of March.
  9. Need to get some round reels for the kick for bass fishing.... The only round reel that I own is Avet MXJ 6/4 Magic Cast Raptor Two Speed Reel which is at the other side of the country (West Coast) for Yellow Tails :).
  10. I’m planning to trade in the rod I bought for my son when he was four. He’s outgrown it—and now at six years old he insists on using my prized NRX rods. I’ve got an expensive little fisherman on my hands.
  11. very informative, I enjoyed the video ..
  12. Got too may storage bins ..and I'm just a shore fisherman ... it takes up 1/4 of my garage space!!!
  13. I was digging into jig‑making techniques and skirt building, and it reminded me of a tool I saw about ten years ago. After watching a YouTube video, I realized the company that made it doesn’t produce it anymore—and I can’t remember their name. Part of me wishes I’d bought one back then. Is there anything available today that does the same job?
  14. Thanks guys for your inputs.... I am going to be trying out those 8lbs line. Just need to pick my poison :)
  15. Fish as much as I can, and bring my 6‑year‑old son along—hopefully he’ll actually fish this time instead of sprinting off to the park. I’m still chasing a few of those big mama fish I spotted at that lake two years ago
  16. That's what I have been doing (braid/leader) - just want to try something different by going straight fluorocarbon this year.
  17. The reel is the Pflueger Patriarch Spinning Reel 2500. (Yeah, I got those on super cheap sale from cabelas back in the old days).
  18. I’m a shore angler fishing a lake that’s mostly 4–8 feet deep, and I’ll be throwing mainly 1/2 oz jerkbaits. In the spring the water stays pretty open, but by mid‑summer the cover can range anywhere from light to fairly heavy depending on the spot. I’m planning to pick up a couple of Bass Pro Shops XPS Staredown Suspending Jerkbaits during the Spring Classic. For this setup, I’ll be using a 7' Medium/Fast St. Croix Mojo Bass spinning rod. Given the conditions and lure weight, would 8 lb or 10 lb line make more sense? I’m trying to balance casting distance with enough strength to handle the changing cover throughout the season. Also curious what line you’d recommend — I’m considering Seaguar InvizX fluorocarbon, but I also have Yo‑Zuri in 6/8/10 lb on hand. EDIT: want to do straight fluorocarbon without braid, Just something different
  19. been there and done that, forgot my tackle and only had a this cheap Firetiger Bass Pro Shops Crappie Maxx Paddle Tail Minnow Jig tied on this spinning rod. Caught the biggest musky ever.
  20. I don't know if you are joking but I do want one of those trucks
  21. I bought on of the 6'9 during when it was on sale as I wanted a light rod for finesse, It feels great but not yet caught anything yet. I have always liked carbon light rods in the past. When they went to white color rods, It was just an eyesore for me. Now they are back to their native color (black) they will get my money.
  22. @volzfan59 Thanks man, I think I am going to get the Series one...
  23. Looks like nobody has this ‘unspeakable’ brand I mentioned. I feel like I’m in Harry Potter, avoiding saying Voldemort’s name.
  24. Thanks, folks. I’m sticking with the spinning rod — it just plain works. I was really just searching for an excuse to feed the monkey on my back, but hey, sounds like I’ve now got a better reason to snag a 16GB 5060 Ti video card instead!
