  1. I had a ton of super glue get on my hands once. The first thing to come to mind after trying to wash it off in the water was to spray it with the bug spray because the spray is really cold. It did help. Made the glue really brittle and it easily flaked off in the water. But my hands smelled really bad. I took some cheap garlic scent i had and rubbed it all over my hands. Continued fishing and still caught fish. Either the smell of bug spray on my jig didn't bother the fish, or the scent covered it up. I'm going with the latter.
  2. Just checked it. It works for me now.
  3. What are you guys all anti social? When i get days off school, i try not to spend all of my money hanging out with friends.
  4. Or that you catch your self sleep fishing on the edge of your bed like you have a rod in your hand and you're pushing on the wall like the "boat" is going to hit something. No? Just me? ;D
  5. Where do you guys buy your jig heads? I'm looking for pre-painted flipping jig heads.
  6. Thanks for the reply snake! At least i got one person to go to the site and click on a video. Just curious if it was a problem with my quicktime or not.
  7. Is it just my computer, or is anyone else unable to watch a video on the lunkerville website?
  8. Sounds like a toothy critter to me. That's exactly what often happens when an esox gets the whole lure and the line is on their teeth. Think about all those teeth. It's basically like hooking your line on a knife point and yanking...slices easily.
  9. If it was to feed my family then i wouldn't mind catching a bunch of dinks and other fish so i'd also pick the twister tail. If it was for my enjoyment, then it would be a jig.
  10. If i had a small kid in the boat, i'd like a boat that's set up like that. Single console and enough room to stand and fish both sides of the boat.
  11. My family has property on a lake in WI. I leave everything up there. Fishing isn't great around here. So that means i'm strictly a summer time fisherman due to school. In the summer i get up to the lake for 2 weeks at a time and i'm out in that boat all day every day for those 2 weeks. I get about 20-30 days to fish a year.
  12. I also disagree with critical mass. Really stupid idea. What if that car driver had his dying wife or child in the car and could not get through?
  13. No food allergies here! I'm allergic to dust though. My excuse for not cleaning. I sneeze uncontrollably around excessive amounts of dust and my eyes get itchy, red, and tear up. I also have some sort of seasonal allergy that makes my eyes a little itchy and dry, but nothing i can't deal with.
  14. I can't watch it due to the use of copyrighted material. Music?
  15. My first BC was a piece of crap pflueger. Really cheap one. All of my stuff sees quite the abuse too. Wanna know the funny part? I've used if for 2 years now, and i still use it for smaller plastics. I don't make much money and don't have a part time job. If i did, i wouldn't be able to go fishing where i go. My other 2 baitcasters are abu silver max's. All of my gear isn't great, but i catch fish. I'm picky with what the fish sees though. Everything else is cheap and rough looking.
  16. I actually haven't done many dumb things. I guess it's easier when i only launch my boat once a year. Gets put in around may, and taken out in october. I fish out of the back of a buddy's boat when i'm not fishing the lake my family owns property on. Not too long ago i caught a decent northern on a big jointed rapala. The tail hook was just dangling there, tickling the back of my hand. I had a really bad feeling about it too. As i reached for the pliers, the fish shook and sent the treble into the side of my ring finger near the base, and ALMOST out the top. That skin is stretchy as hell! I freaked and tried to put the fish down. Instead i ended up with a northern hanging from my hand and shaking violently. I'm surprised the weight of the fish alone wasn't able to tear my finger open, let alone all the shaking! The northern finally shook itself loose and went flopping into the water. I stood there with a rapala hanging from my hand. Surprisingly i hadn't felt a thing. It wasn't bleeding at all either. Took a while to get the hook out by myself. Didn't hurt, i just couldn't get enough leverage with one hand to push the hook all the way through because of how stretchy that skin is. Got it out and kept fishing. 8-) Dumbest part of that was letting that lure rest on my hand for that split second knowing well how pike are. Letting go of the fish when i felt the pressure on my hand was just the icing on the cake.
  17. I never have problems opening them neatly. Only the dumb people in the household seem to have problems. Then i have to deal with a bag that doesn't want to pour one second, then dumps half the bag the next. Then i'm standing there with a gigantic bowl of cereal, and an oddly shaped opening that i can't pour any back into. :-/ The dog seems to enjoy these types of mornings.

It may seem like something easy, just a simple button, but i'm pretty sure it's a lot more complicated. This site is made with one of those pre-made forums, isn't it? Sorta like phpBB?
  19. That was a great show! I usually dislike his shows, but you guys made that an awesome episode. Makes me wanna come down there and fry up some snakehead.
  20. I had a hard time signing up as well. Gave up and a few months later i was reading here and realized i may be able to use my phone's email. I have verizon, so my phone's email is 1xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com. Anything sent to that email will go to my phone as a text message. I'm pretty sure all carriers have something like this. If his phone is unable to go to internet links sent in texts, then he may just have to type in the link to his address bar on the computer. I tried to change my email to my gmail account after i signed up, but the forum deleted my account.
  21. BAD IDEA for braid. Fine for everything else. Power pro explodes when I use a lighter on it. Last few times I did it, it exploded molten Moss Green all over my hands and wrists. I had little pin-point burns for a few days. However I always use a lighter for mono/fluoro. Explode? How the heck does it explode? I have used a lighter on PP braid, and it did nothing unusual. I wouldn't dismiss the requirement for scissors if you have a lighter though. They don't work very well in wind.
  22. As long as it isn't horrible, i have no problem staying out when it starts raining. Put the trolling motor on a decent speed and start chucking and winding a spinnerbait. A change in weather can be like the start of a new day. Gotta start all over searching for those active fish. I have the most luck if i'm out as the weather changes. That means before, during, and after the rain. Find the fish when that weather system turns them on, and hopefully you can just change your approach and stay on them as the weather changes. A lot harder than it sounds though. Pay attention to that barometer. The pressure change may come WAY before the rain does. Forget about the actual rain. The air pressure matters the most.
  23. HAHA!!! That's funny! I buy a lot of stuff pre-scented. I had a lot of luck on powerbait and garlic. I should probably find something to put on my senkos though. I'm gonna try JJs and megastrike this season.

I got a 4lber on a buzzbait, at night, after i pulled out a backlash. Smacked it after it came off the bottom. Just felt like sharing that. I like jigs for big fish. Sure i could fish a small ribbon tail or a senko and catch 20 fish in no time, but i've had days where i catch nothing but big ones while fishing a jig. I'm gonna try those mop jigs this year.
  25. If i'm at the lake on a weekday and there isn't another boat in sight, i'll make about 10 casts to it, move on and continue fishing for 15-20 minutes. I'll come back and try again, usually with a different lure. If i am sure there's fish there, i'll do this a few times.
