  1. Awesome buzzbait BASS y'all!!! That's some fine catchin'! Dan
  2. Welcome to BR! I'd throw a weightless 5" Senko in color #222 rigged with a 4/0 Sugoi hook. Run the hook in the blunt end and bring it our about 3/8" and then back in the Senko. Run it all the way through the bait, allowing the flat part of the hook to lie on top of the bait. Pick up the 'skin' of the bait just under the hook's point and pull it over the tip to make the bait weedless. A decent rod/reel/line(10-12# test) should allow for plenty of casting distance as the Senko is dense in weight. A 6" Senko would cast a little further but I believe the 5" one is the best all-round size. Just throw it out. Let it fall thru the water on its own. Twitch it forward, pause, twitch, etc. When you feel a bite, reel up the line slack and then set the hook. Keep your rod pointing almost straight up and reel to keep the Bass from throwing the hook. 9. Thank you Deb. Went out again this afternoon in mid-90s heat but skunked out this time. I had a 3 lber(?) on a hard jerkbait for a few seconds but it threw the bait right back at me I prefer the warmer months since I was born-n-raised in South Florida . I spent one winter in KY at the IBM training school in Lexington in the early 60s and that was no fun for this thin-blooded Floridian 8-), Dan
  10. Hadn't caught any Bass over 2 lbs until today. Sunny, large clouds, 98 degrees air temp as I walked the bank. No bites on anything I tried until I got to the middle area of the 'T'-shaped upper pond on my former boss's farm. A weightless Swimming Senko caused a 4 lber to bite. The hot weather/water(don't know it's temp?) didn't keep this Bass from pulling drag and fighting all the way to the bank. The pic of the 2 lber is from 2 days ago. All I caught then but the Javallon bait made the pic interesting. Three days ago, I fished with my best buddy Bill and he caught the biggest Bass, a 2 lber on a Senko. The big Bluegill bit a Zoom Speed Worm on a Wiggle Rig. Click directly on the pics for better resolution: 4 lbs, 5 ozs--23" Same 4 lber Javallon 2 lber Bill's 2 lber Bluegill Dan

  21. I'm on my second tripod and my second digital camera. I had a cheap tripod and the clamp came loose a few years ago as I was raising it and my digital camera from my boat's deck to take a pic.... The camera ended up in 12' of cold, muddy water. Dan
  22. As a former Marine, my heart goes out to them and their families. Here is a moving video of a Lakota Marine's funeral as his friends and family honor him. Turn on your speakers. Here are the still images found in that video with better quality. Dan
