  1. Thanks y'all. I wondered if I'd get any replies to this thread. Our Governor was there too. He's from WR too. CSA Taylor! Dan
  2. Hey, wait a minute now! Even though it seem's I chose my screen name based on the name of a rod, I didn't. My 'name' came from my buying a 2001 F150 Lightning. Use to drag race it a couple of years ago. It's very quick 8-) Oh, and good choice to get out of that weather. Dan
  3. Yep Jay, it's stocked with panfish for the Bass to feed on. The owner(my former boss) is managing his two ponds to grow trophy Bass but it's still in the works . Ironically, he has never fished. He hunts but fishing doesn't turn him on. Of course, if he tried it, he might like it. Dan
  4. Some fine Texas Bass Cliff!!! Dan
  5. Yep, that Toad would get you hooked! 8-) Dan
  6. Yaes!!! That's what I'm talkin' about; fishin', hookin', catchin', and grinnin' and in shorts too! Dan
  7. Well, I know who's side I'm on! She kisses them and they come back for more 8-). dan
  8. Back out in it this afternoon for about 2 hours but only 2, small keepers :-/ Nice looking bait Daniel 8-) Dan
  9. Fantastic report and association Russ! Kudos to you squared young man!!! 8-) Dan
  10. Ya done good young man! Try a fast-retrieve lure once in a while in the summer and you might be surprised. Dan
  11. The family that fish's together... Y'all are just too early in getting up for me but congrats on the fine fish! Dan
  12. Fine fish Joe! Dan
  13. Aw shucks! Y'all are going to embarrass me . Thanks to all for the very kind words and Deb, you can have the occasional fireant colony I step in ;D. Just kidding. I know what you mean and I'm with ya young Lady. 8-) Dan
  14. I bought some Jackall lures from ExtremeLures.com and they came in yesterday. One of them was the TN70, a rat-l-trap type bait. It has a very tight wiggle and some great colors. I threw it yesterday and had a big(?) one on for a few seconds but I lost her to a poor hookup. I did catch several keepers off of it too. Went back to the same pond today and fished it from 11:30 AM to 2 PM, in the heat(100 F) of the day and I fished it FAST. I'm on the bank, about 20' from the water and I'm ripping it back to me. As the TN70 gets near the bank, in about 2' of water, this 5 lber races in and grabs it right in front of me. She ran with it but I got her back in a few seconds. Yes, Bass will bite in the heat of a hot summer and they will chase a fast running bait if the bait has what it takes. Caught 3 dinks and a 2 lber off it too today. Click directly on the pics for clearer pics: Jackall TN70 5 lbs, 15 ozs--24" Again 2 lber Dan
  15. I am tongue-tied and flabbergasted . . Way to hookem young Lady. I walked the bank yesterday in 100+ heat and could only manage a few keepers. Had one big(?) one on for a few seconds.... Thanks for the pics and the grins ;D. Dan
  16. So sorry for you and your friends Deb. What a horrific time to go through. You are one tough Lady and we all admire you. It is impossible to understand what God allow's to happen sometimes. Two years ago, we lost a niece after her husband murdered her. My sister and my BIL(in their 50s) took responsibility for her two pre-school sons and are raising them as their own. Dan
  17. Hard core Bassin' Mr. B! Dan
  18. I'm sorry. I don't believe that's you. I can't see any "blue eyes"! ;D Fantastic fish and catchin' young Lady!!! Dan
  19. Here's a moderately priced one that has been good to me. Their Translucent Minnow was the color I used. Dan
  20. Gudlawdamighty FB! What a serious day of Bassin' young man! 8-) Dan
  21. Torture me, torture me! Great pic and Bass young Lady! You are a hard core Basser and put us men to shame. :-/ Dan
  22. Thanks y'all. SS: I love my Sol and my Pixies too. They are are not 'stock' though. All 3 of them have been modified by a man out in Texas. He goes by D.R. on Tackle Tour. Included were upgraded(ABEC 5s) bearings and Smoothie drag washers. I like them better than the more expensive Custom Daiwas I have. That's a JDM Megabass Shiryu rod. It's glass with spiral-wound guides and made for cr/baits and other treble hook baits. Dan
  23. Dammitgirl! I just carry a hand towel with me. Wouldn't have been much help 8-)! I'm thinkin' about movin' to KY Lake ;D. Dan
