  2. No apologies necessary. That's a good fishing report . And, welcome to BR. Very nice Bass and I'd guess it went about 3 lbs? 8-) Dan

  4. Yes FPB, I must have nicked a gill. :-[ Good eyes young man! I held her still in the water and in a couple of seconds she torqued out of my hand and took off for the deeper water . Thanks for the kind words y'all. Dan
  5. No, it was my fault. They should work now. Dan
  6. Catching any Bass over 2/10 has eluded me for the last several weeks. Fished 4 different ponds, a 600 acre lake, and a couple of hours on the Ocmulgee River over those weeks and nothing over a 2/10. Went back to my former boss's walk-around pond this afternoon with Bluebird skies, clear water, temps in the mid-80s, and wind gusts up to 20 mph. After about a half hour, I felt the thump of a bite on a bait Randall(Lake Varner guide) had shown to me a few weeks ago. It's a 1/8 oz Shakey Head jig and a Zoom Trick Worm. Now, I know most of ya'll have been using these for months if not years but they are new to me. That thump was a 5 lb, 15 oz, 23" Bass. Felt pretty darn good getting her to the bank with BPS's 8 lb fluro. Side view Gut shot Backside Left click directly on the pics for better resolution. Thanks again Randall for the tip! Dan
  7. Y'all had a great time Robert! Our son just had his 31st birthday. He chose Ruth Chris's for him, his wife and their party of ten. When I asked him about it, he said that this was the best "steak house" meal he had ever enjoyed and that in his opinion, it was better than Morton's. Might give them a try if there's one in your area. Dan
  8. Fluro review #1 Review sequel I've used BPS's fluro a few times recently and it works fine for me. Dan
  9. Howdy Glenn. Your story sounds similar to mine in that I was born-n-raised in Miami, Florida. My DW and I moved to middle GA in 1972. Caught my first big Bass, an 8 lber out of the Tamiami canal way back in the mid-70s on a visit back to Miami. Can't help with the Augusta area but keep on fishing as there are some nice Bass in GA too. Dan
  10. WTG Dave and Dad! Great to see a son and a father fishing(and catching) together! Dan
  11. Wow! What a great BASS Dick!!! All my relatives on both sides of my family are from in and around(Sneads, Chattahoochee, Greensboro, etc.) Tallahassee. Use to love it when we went there for summer vacations. An uncle owned Mingaldorf Motors back in the 40s. Potts Road was named after an aunt and uncle. Dan
  12. Fine, fat Bass young man!!! Y'all did good! 8-) Dan
  13. Man, that's impressive! I almost never try a jig from the shore unless it's a shaky-head type. Dan
  14. I'm guessing 3 lbs. Very nice Bass! Dan
  15. WOW!!!! You are cookin' Russ! Dark green, fat BASS; doesn't get much better than that. 8-) Dan

  17. I use the Canon Powershot G6 and thanks to Chris , I now have noticed it has two Custom memory slots. I've always used the Auto feature. One of its advantages(and why I bought it) is its wireless remote. Don't have to worry about focus when the shutter activates as I'm always ready in front of it. Got to remember to hide the remote when I take a pic though :-?. Dan
  18. Hey Deb, what's your CB handle, "Best Woman Basser"?
  19. Their Paca Craws are awesome! I prefer to T-rig them. I prefer these chunks when I want my JigXs to stand upright on the bottom. Dan
