  1. I no how to spell wrist now and I'm 50 and fading fast the confuz is easy Thanks Garnet
  2. LBH just for fun I watched the vid. a couple times. The first thing I see is if you are half way thru this vid. than that guy at the front stoled your stick. That stick could go right into my tourney rods. But more important go to KVD spinnerbait dvd or seminar and he will tell you use a soft tip stick those are not $500 stiff to the tip junk. When I talk about 70/30 and a very soft tip watch the vid. very close first buddy lifts his just a little to check bend in stick and then strait up to the power of the rod and holds it there. The fish reacts by shaking his head and it's game on the drag slips. If buddy had a 4-5 custom 7 ft loomis Shimamo stiff to the tip he would give back this 25% soft tip advantage. It's uphill trying to confinecse anglers of this but I like a challenge. About third buddy that strait then side then strait rod action would get edited by me. Bad foot postion bad rod control just not nice. The good news is buddy 3 keeps going back to good rod position so he would stay on Garnets team. Theres buddy that looks like he's draging a tube behind the boat. The first time I watch side hookset towards boat not good. This time I see boat direction lots of line out good hard hook set and then rod strait up. This guy has fish a lot. The worst footage is baitcaster buddy with that side arm away from his body wraist wrong position elbow exposed to pain hookset. The only guy I no that can do this regular and get away with it is a forestry guy for 20 years he climbs trees everyday and use his wraits to lim trees from every angle the rest of poor slackers with week wraist are dead with this hookset. Fun watching a guy that has fished a bit and is proably very consitdent. But not named KVD. Still the best hookset video I've seen. Garnet I'm going steelhead now to learn who to fight fish after 35 years still learning.
  3. LBH Now this is funny just go to your post and click on Hookset. The best buddy hookset is the first 2 "in my opinion" theres a couple issues that I would correct in the rest of the vid. Isn't that you about half way. I will critique your hookset if you would like later right now I'm going to bed. On midnights and not happy. Garnet
  4. LBH I no I can confuse but you have me confuzed. Either pm or just say it I can take it. Garnet
  5. Sprint has been out of biz for 6 years maybe 7. On my rating scale Sprint would be about the Quality of Nitro. If you are thinking of buying this boat don't let anybody tell you that it's out of biz you will never get parts. Everthing on this boat and most boats (pumps switches gauges) can be purchased thru TC Marina catalog. Only high end bassboats like Ranger have parts that are only for Ranger. The problem is getting somebody to work on them. As you might guess I own a 207 sprint with 225 merc and if you need more info pm me. Garnet
  6. Some times it's hard to get a very good answer on a Question like this. One area is to set the hook to the power of the rod. If you notice on the video that buddy sets the hook and then waits for the fish to react. All buddy is doing is having max pressure on a fish without breaking things. What most anglers do is crank that drag to the max and drill the fish with John Daly follow thru this will give you a world of hurt. Also notice that the drag slips just pass max hookset from buddy. You will proably never see a better how to video on hookseting. Garnet
  7. Best dvd in a long time. Check out how a gobie swims compared to other minnows. It's worth the effort to learn this gobie swim with your baits . Garnet
  8. Sorry it's sold. Are they still available on Yammamoto web site. Garnet
  9. On the standard u shape I took sidecutter and cut closes to the handle. This lets the line thru. Works good. Garnet

I'm pulling for the Canadain Jon Bondy. He has his back against the wall and everthing on the line. He is good for 4 tournaments. Garnet

  12. After I bought my aqu view it was clear how little I new what my fish finder was telling me. My quess is 80% inprovement in my fish finder inturpertation. Garnet
  13. The first thing is the thromecline if you have a good fish finder it will show as a band on the screen. The smallies will be shallower than this. Get some 3/8 tube jigs and some tubes in the tone of the bottom color. Go to shallows and look around if it's brown buy brown if it's sand greys and off white ect. Get a 7 ft spinning rod and 8 lb flouro. Set your stoller on about 20% and start dragging adjust length of line adjust speed to maintain bottom contact. Get some 5-6 oz jigs to tow the smallies back down if they get the bends. Garnet
  14. How complicated are these units. Are there adjustments to improve readings. Do water conditions affect units. Garnet

Nichols Spinnerbaits are the best and Strikeking 2nd. I was watching KVD on his early 90's spinnerbait dvd and he had Nichols and Strikeking. Garnet

I was resently at a seminar with Gord Pysor(in fisherman) talked about Rick Clunn campaining for a no info rule. It was his thinking (Clunn0 that B.A.S.S. had become a have's and have not. The money guys were hiring the best local guides and putting them under contract and the local hot stick tourney guys. So it wasn't about who could find and put a plan together but how hired the right info. Garnet
  17. my info is that 1 unit will have the map from a chip and the other will just share gps pionts. The cable that hooks the network is wicked expencive. When I but all the cost together I bought a lms3300c and a 330c and installed both antenas. Garnet
  18. For fish to jump sevaral times it takes the fish heading towards the surface and angler leaning into them it's a levearage thing. If you learn to take the presure off the fish just before they jump they won't jump as much and you will not lose fish. Again if it's not broke don't fix just entry my tourneys please. Garnet
  19. Pickup a shimano claus 66x mh the x is very important. This rod has very soft tip and lots of backbone. Great for general spinning. If you a lttle more punch get there 68x mh I t-jig this spinning stick. Garnet
  20. The yellow handle one in BPS is the best sometimes the handle is different color. Never did find industrail file that was fine enough. Garnet
  21. I have allways bought the external and bolted the antenna on the boat. The reason Thieves they can get the unit but the antenaa is half the price. With the built in model it's 1 grab. Garnet
  22. You need to check about your draw partner. Are you considerd a guide. Garnet
  23. it's not bragging facts are facts and skill is skill Garnet
  24. Thats the best thing about largie fishing. You must lean on them until you get them into more open water. At this piont a lot just keep leaning until they landem or lose them. I like fishing against landum or lose them crowd. Garnet
  25. Put your hand on the xduser if it's pinging your screen is powey. Look for squeezed power wires they are tiny and it doesn't take much. And the male end of the plug can get curd on in it I use wd40 and work it back and fourth them put vasiline on them. Garnet
