I think this is very true in many many many cases. I have witnessed it the other way around as well. Where the media builds a certain person up as an icon or model citizen .... then you meet them and hang out with them when the cameras are off and they are complete dirt bags.

THIS IS MOOK WORTHY That means a lot coming from you ;D ;D ;D

- Drive 100 miles to that spot you love but only go maybe once a year. You get there and realize you got the battery this time (forget that last week :) but left the trolling motor this time. - Go night fishing for one of the first times. Tie the boat up to the dock and park the truck in the lot and proceed to the boat. Parking lot has no lights and you can barely see your hand in front of your face and of course the flash light is in the boat. Get to the boat and step off the dock. You do the infamous splits between the boat and dock and eventually decide to make the leap for the boat. It's a quite clumsy leap but you are dry and in the boat after some MAJOR rocking. Thankful, you troll the electric only lake in your bass hunter/pond hopper type boat about 20-30 minutes to the other end of the lake only to find ......... NO RODS!!!!!! You realize that you probably kicked them out by accident when you jumped in the boat from the dock. Make your way back to the ramp and pack the boat up and sleep in the truck until daylight. At daylight go "diving" for your rods. After an hour you have 3 out 4. Call it "good enough" and drive home wet, cold, and fishless.

I hate it!!! That is one of my biggest pet peeves. I once quit a job back in high school because they wanted me to work on Thanksgiving. That's family time. They are priority #1. I feel the same about Christmas and even Mothers' and Fathers' Day.

Well it looks like that pretty much cleared up the BCS mess. It appears it will be LSU vs the winner of the Big XII Championship *Assuming all these teams win out from here on out. This year that doesn't appear to be a safe thing to do. :-?

That was a lot Catt!!! IMO I think the NC is going to be LSU (if they win out) or Oregon (if LSU falls) vs The winner of the Big XII Championship (KU, OU or MU) No numbers behind it. Just what I think it should look like. What do you think?

I couldn't have said it better. After watching a couple of games, our inside is not that good yet. Freethrows are called "FREE" for a reason. Why can't we hit em? Watched Pitt St. lead the kitties for most of the game the other day, wow! Beasley is probably the real deal, but they looked pretty bad as a team. Is it just me, or should Darnel Jackson be starting in place of Sasha Kaun crapola .... and I just saw Sherron Collins is expected to be out 6 weeks

;D ;D ;D Basketball??? Do we have a team this year? Hard to believe our football team is ranked higher than our basketball team at the moment. Basketball season sure did creep up faster than normal this year. Most of the attention has been football team. Normally I am counting down the days until hoops tip off around the first of October. Not this year. Team looks descent so far. I think we might be a bit over-rated at 4 right now, but who exactly has earned their ranking at this time of year. There is definitely some potential there to do some great things though. Our front court needs to develop and when we get Brandon Rush back in a couple weeks we should have one of the best (if not the best) and deepest back courts in the nation. It's a good time to be a Jayhawk. Rock Chalk!!

Yes, that is why there is that IF. And that's a big IF. Right now I believe we have just one top 25 win ... @ K-State. At the time I believe they were 24. So do I think we deserve to be 1 or 2 right now ..... absolutely not. But if we can beat Mizzou and OU I certainly think our resume would be good enough to get to THE GAME.

Kansas Jayhawks .... IF we win out .... 2 top 5 wins .... Anybody else done that?? Weak schedule is no longer an issue

I am not too worried about the Hawks. Sure we have some tough games coming up. ....... BUT IF we win out, we would have beaten 2 top 5 teams. IMO KU is the only team that can truly say they have control of their own destiny. So if we win out, Oregon and LSU will have to sweat out the other spot in the NC.

Todd Reesing Nahhh ... If things continue to go well though he should make a name for himself this year and I don't see why he shouldn't be a preseason consideration for next year though. It's hard to say this year. It seems usually by about this time of year you can just about narrow it down to a couple guys. This year it seems like things are still wide open.

That is one of those games I will always remember. I remember my whole family was up watching that game in the family room. When Elway made his comeback, they all went to bed. I stayed up. And then Montana did his thing. Talk about two artist painting a masterpiece .... and the right one won that time!!!!!!!! ;D ps .. I was at the playoff game in '97 when Elway did his thing in the 4th Quarter to comeback and beat the Chiefs on the way to the Superbowl. Hated it at the time, but it's cool now to say I saw a "Master" do his thing on the way to the Superbowl, thus completing his career.
