  1. I'm either fishing from the bank or from a smaller size boat. I have to load up and unload each trip. The first thing I check is the weather forecast. The bait and rigs I bring depends on wind, rain, sun, or clouds, I worry about the specific presentation when I get on the water.
  2. Sometimes the bass want a small profile, other times they want the trailer to match the skirt, and sometimes they will bite when the jig and trailer are different colors, as long as those colors are natural looking.
  3. Maybe the scale was set to kilograms instead of pounds.
  4. Glad you are OK. That pic gave me they willies. That was too close for comfort.
  5. I wear either a boonie or a tall, wide brim straw hat. The tall straw hat let's some of the heat rise up away from my head.
  6. An old MH/F Bass Pro Tourney Special rod. One of the maroon ones with the hump in the handle.
  7. About the only time I have luck with a frog is when I'm fishing heavily matted ponds, and those ponds have not seen a lot of frog fishing pressure. Most of the time I will be fishing with a popper, walking bait, or a Jitterbug.
  8. This time of year I am fishing weightless. Senkos get torn up more from dragging through the vegetation than catching bass. If the bait is long enough I will turn it around and Texas rig it from the back side. The bass don't seem to notice any difference.
  9. I move when my gut tells me to. It might be 30 minutes, or it may be 5 minutes.
  10. I figure if I can get the bait where I want it 50% of the time then I am doing good.

I have been fishing a 1/8 round head jig, I can pull that size through the vegetation easier than a larger jig. Most of the time I will be using a Zoom Super Chunk Jr. as a trailer. If the bass are wanting a smaller profile, then I will use a Netbaits Tiny Paca Chunk.
  12. I have a few. Large plastic worm, spinnerbait, and swimjig when the bass don't want to come up. Jitterbug, buzzbait, and popper when bass are hitting stuff on the surface. Which bait depends on the water I am fishing.
  13. We have two birdfeeders in the back yard. The smaller birds dig through the seed and eat what they want. The rest of the seed falls on the ground and is eaten by the larger birds that will not fit on the feeders, We also get squirrels and rabbits coming in to get the seeds that have fallen on the ground. It's all good until the grackles show up.
  14. If the conditions are right then I use the same MH/F rod for both spinnerbaits and bladed jigs, depending on what the bass want.
  15. If there are snags on the bottom I'll start the retrieve as soon as the bait hits the water.
  16. That's a good looking jig.
  17. Give it about a week and then go back and catch that bass.
  18. 50 lb braid for frogs and punching. 15 lb mono for jigs, T-rigs, and heavy moving baits. 10 lb mono for light moving baits, and unweighted plastics. 8 lb mono for finesse rigs in open water. 6 lb mono for the UL.
  19. It will vary depending on the amount and type of cover. Usually a jig and craw, crankbait, Texas rigged or weightless plastic, and some type of finesse rig.
  20. I'd start off with a topwater. Maybe a buzzbait, or a popper if there is some open water. If the bass aren't coming up then I switch over to a fluke, weightless senko or straight tail worm, or a small swim jig.
  21. I'd say somewhere between 4 and 5 lbs.
  22. In the summer my skin needs to breathe. Anything except loose fitting clothing and I start to break out in a rash. Most of the time I'm wearing shorts and a tee shirt.
  23. Welcome to the forums Pablo.
  24. Scary. Glad they got it figured out and got you on the right meds.
