  1. None of the baitcasters that I currently use are less than 6.3.
  2. Remember where you caught the smaller bass, and in what cover. If you are catching 2 or 3 pounders in grass then move out of the grass. Also, look for humps, creek beds, and holes. Sometimes the bass are too big to hide in sparse cover.
  3. I have backing on my reels, so I tie with two overhand knots. Then I put a piece of painter's tape over the knot. When I can see the tape clearly or feel the knot then I know it's time for new line.
  4. A 1/16 oz. inline spinner, or a small Original Floating Minnow will catch anything in the lake.
  5. Thanks to Glenn for getting the website back up!
  6. I finally got a bass this year that wasn't a dink. I was fishing from the dock casting a spinnerbait into some grass growing near the bank.
  7. Around here the spawn is just about finished.
  8. I have a couple of bags of Jelly Worms in grape. They still work on a Texas rig.
  9. That is a good looking bass.
  10. Nice going!
  11. On almost every trip I find a big wad of used fishing line on the ground or in a plant. I pick it up and put it in the bottom of my tackle bag. I've done this ever since I saw a white egret tangled up and hanging in a tree.
  12. That's a beast, congratulations!
  13. You caught some nice ones!
  14. It's always hard saying goodbye to a friend and family member. My sympathies to your family.
  15. As long as they are in the original container, they should be good to go. Some of my plastics are over 10 years old.
  16. Poppers Walking Baits Jitterbugs
  17. Welcome to the forums.
  18. If you're going to get just rain, that may improve fishing in the long run. It's the lightning, hail, and gusty wind that I worry about.
  19. I don't target bedding bass, but if I'm getting bit in a specific area then I will continue to fish the area until the bite stops. This year I've been fishing with swimjigs on the flats in the new vegetation, and Texas rigs in the deeper water. If there is wind, then I'll try a spinnerbait, but that bite has been hit or miss.
  20. It got so bad I started watching some of Randy's YouTube videos.
  21. You may want to try fishing areas where you have stumps or laydowns surrounded by vegetation, or spots where the different types of growth are all mixed together. Most of the time I'm fishing with a 1/8 or 1/4 ounce bottom jig, a 1/8 ounce Texas rig, or a shallow running crankbait. I fish in between the weed mats where the growth is around a foot or so off of the bottom, and I'll work the Texas rig and jig on top of the submerged growth. I don't want the bait to sink into the shallow vegetation and be hidden. If there is surface activity in the then I'll work a topwater in between the mats.
  22. We've been in our typical spring weather pattern for a few weeks now. Crazy temps swings with high winds.
  23. With everything going on I forgot all about it.
  24. If I can't tie a palomar knot then I'm tying a double uni knot.
  25. I fish some lakes like this. There are no snags out toward the center, but debris falls into the water and gets washed into the bank and piles up there. @Pat Brown and @Lottabass have nailed it, You either have to use a lighter jig that won't sink as fast, or keep using the Texas rigs.
