  1. @GoneFishingLTN , it depends on the depth and slope of the rocks. For a shallow, gradual slope, I'll run a shallow crankbait, or a wake bait. If it is a steep drop off, I'll use a medium diving crankbait, or a spinnerbait to get all the way down to the bottom.
  2. Actually, I don't think I have ever tried to tie it.
  3. I'm good with what I have now, but I do keep an eye on the new products just in case I need to buy something.
  4. The temps have been all over this winter. We'll warm up into the 40's, 50's, or maybe 60's for a few days and then the arctic blast will come and we'll be frozen for maybe a week. Rinse and repeat.
  5. For me it depends on which one is on sale.
  6. I always use 6 lb mono.
  7. Jig and craw Plastic worm Texas rigged craw Crankbait Spinnerbait Lipless crankbait
  8. Congrats on the boat and the catching!
  9. A great way to start the year!
  10. I'm just spit balling but what if you mounted it inside a picture frame and then hung the picture frame on the wall.
  11. I still use a 26 yo 5600C4 for punching. If I'm bringing in a bass and a lot of vegetation, I worry more about the rod breaking than the reel giving out.
  12. I fish with shallow and medium diving crankbaits 99% of the time. The line size depends on the weight of the lure and the cover I am casting around. Fishing in open water with crankbaits 1/4 through say 7/16 ounce baits I'll use 10 lb mono. For larger baits I use 15 lb mono, If there is wood or a lot of vegetation around I will fish the lighter crankbaits on the 15 lb mono.
  13. Teriyaki Chicken cooked in a crock pot. Taco Casserole. We swap out the black olives for jalapenos. The leftovers are great the next day.
  14. They actually caught that bass at Stockton Lake.
  15. A 6" Creme Scoundrel plastic worm.
  16. The only older reel I would consider buying would be one from the late 70's early 80's.
  17. Waterproof boots and hunting socks. One or two pair or sweatpants depending on the temp. Over that I wear rain pants or bibs. On top I wear a base layer. Then comes a sweatshirt or hoodie under an insulated jacket, if I'm fishing from shore. If I'm in a boat then I'll swap out the jacket for another sweatshirt and wear my life jacket over it. Over the past few years I have started to get sinus infections so I will have a thick knit cap and my hood up depending on the temps and wind.
  18. We don't really have a New Year's tradition. This year my wife made some of her lasagna. We finished the last of it yesterday.

History, both crime and military. I also like horror and science.
  20. Based on 2025, I would be fishing a 1/8 ounce jig with a small craw trailer.
  21. That was a great year in review.

I use snaps for moving baits that have treble hooks. Everything else gets tied directly to the line.
  23. That bass is huge, congrats!
  24. Welcome to the forums.
