  1. Lesson learned.
  2. If the weather forecast for December is correct I am done too. Highs in the low 30’s just don’t appeal to me.
  3. I like a mh/f for fishing in submerged milfoil. It has just enough backbone to pop the jig loose when it gets hung up.
  4. Well I can’t function without my coffee either.
  5. There are several variables I consider. Cover, fish size, and wind are some.
  6. You might try checking with your conservation office. They can probably tell you the species that lives in your area.
  7. Nice catch! You have a skillet big enough for that?
  8. The two I like are Yozuri, and Big game. For the past couple of years I have used Big Game more and more.
  9. As long as I can take the cold air temps, and the water is not frozen, I will be fishing. Over the past three or four years I have started using finesse baits more and more in the cold weather. I have seen a lot of 5+ pound bass caught on crappie baits in the winter.
  10. If it were me, I’d buy a casting rod. Either way I would get a mh/f. It will be easier to pull the bait through thick cover with that little extra backbone in the rod.
  11. Wow! Congratulations!
  12. I went to BPS on Black Friday 12 years ago. Never ever again.

I just buy gifts for my wife. I don’t want to know how much my Wife spends on gifts for the relatives.
  14. Check the props like others have said. The prop could be acting like a rudder if it isn’t turning correctly.
  15. A lot of the local water I fish is shallow. My favorite in shallow water is a Mann’s 1 minus.
  16. 1. Jitterbug 5/8 ounce 2. Green pumpkin senko 3. Jig and craw 3/8 ounce 4. Zoom super hog 5. Jig and craw 3/8 ounce
  17. We write all this information down then never use it. I was looking over my logs to see what my best cold weather bait was, and it turned out to be shallow running crankbaits worked over submerged vegetation. I would have sworn it was plastics or jigs worked around timber.
  18. Sorry to hear. RIP.
  19. Wishing everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving day.
  20. There might be several reasons why bass will hit a plastic worm when they miss the first bait. The only thing I'm going to worry about is having the rod rigged with the worm within arms length so I can grab it if I need to.
  21. I won’t go over 6 pound on my ml. Some of the neighborhood lakes I fish see a lot of pressure. Sometimes the heavier line spooks the bass.
  22. I’ve never fished with a fury, but I have two mh premiers and love them.
  23. If you are going to use it exclusively for crankbaits I would take a look at Lightning rods, or some of the BPS rods. Those would be well within your budget.
  24. If it were me fishing deep in a new lake, and if that lake had a creek bed, I would start there. The bed gives the bass a path to follow, has access to shallow and deep water, and will probably have some kind of cover in it. The best thing I like about creek beds is that they are long. You can anchor above them and work the bait back right down the center. As for the difference between cover and structure, I keep it very simple. Structure will withstand the test of time and remain the same. Cover will rot, die out, or be changed by water level, and weather.
