  1. Right there is the way to do it.
  2. Most of my bass have been off of some kind of slope where the lake goes from shallow to deep. The steeper the better.
  3. I use white most of the time. No trailer hook, or trailer.
  4. In murky water I use black, black/blue, and junebug. In clear water I look to see if there is a lot of vegetation. No vegetation, I use a brown, or crawdad color. If there is a lot of vegetation I use watermelon, or green pumpkin.
  5. I like to be out on the water as soon as I can see without a headlamp.
  6. Does the lake gradually get deep, or is there a sudden drop off near the deep water? If there is a drop off I would work a jig around it.
  7. I do it all the time, but with mono.
  8. I wet my buff and then put on a wide brim straw hat.
  9. I had 15 combos last year. Over the winter I got it down to 8. When I'm out on the water I usually end up using 4 or 5.
  10. No plastics? You're killing me. Mann's 1 minus Rat-l-trap Pop-R Shad Rap Heddon Tiny Torpedo
  11. This time of year I fish them slow. Cast it out, let it sink to the bottom, give the bait a slight jerk with the rod, let it sit for a minute. Repeat.
  12. Way to go!
  13. Jig and craw.
  14. Try a t-rig around the grass. Look for a spot that is near a drop off into the deep water.
  15. I watch wind speed more than direction. Some of those gusts can be murder.
  16. depending on the type of boat I am fishing from, usually around 15 mph.
  17. I got a bunch of old bell type sinkers from my Dad's old tackle box that we used back when we fished for cat a lot. I got a pair of heavy cutters and removed the wire that went down the center of the weights.
  18. I start with 3/8 for jigs and t-rigs. Depending on the conditions the weight will go up or down. I have been fishing some very thick vegetation lately, and have been using 1/8 jigs, and 1/16 weights for the t-rigs. Sometimes weightless if the wind isn't too bad. I find that the smaller weights pull through the weeds much easier.
  19. Some good info right here, thanks.
  20. Fishing during the day I use a lot of sunblock, wide brim hat, buff, and drink a lot of water. Fishing at night in the heat I use a lot of bug spray, buff to keep the bugs off my neck and face, and drink a lot of water.
  21. Spro Bronzeye, but I think I am going to have to try the Booyah Pad Crasher
