About the only thing I do is go over the checklist while getting ready for a trip. I look over the check list a second time before I leave.

I bring my red BPS tackle bag. Plenty of pockets for other items like lunch, and sunblock.

We have about 1-1/2" to 2" of snow on the ground here. Streets are becoming slick, and the wind is blowing like crazy.

I keep catfish, bluegill, and crappie. I don't care for the taste of bass.

I like to fish a jig on the bank that the wind is hitting. Size of the jig depends on how hard the wind is blowing.

Thanks! This was on a new pond also, so I guess I hit one of my goals this year of fishing new bodies of water.

Sad news. Sorry it happened.

I practice my flipping and pitching, but every now and then I just have to go outside and let one of those test plugs fly.

My favorite is not the bait I throw the most. My favorite is a Big-O. I have been using them for years.

Third trip this year, and the first time out with warm weather. I fished a pond from the shore and after about an hour I caught this 4-01lber on a 1/2 ounce chrome w/ blue back rat-l-trap. It was bright and sunny, but the water only had about 1' of visibility.

I can just see that fish dragging along the bottom as it swims.

Bingo. When I would take my kids fishing, they were in charge.

It is suppose to be in the low 70's here today. Hopefully it will melt the rest of the ice off so I can get out tomorrow. That deep freeze we had last weekend really put a good layer of ice on the smaller bodies of water.

Good to know when something like this happens everyone remains calm and cool, and starts posting to instagram.

I have always used the palomar knot.

The last time I went I was not impressed. That was several years ago. I don't think I am missing too much by not going.
