  1. That's cool, congrats!
  2. I'd start off with a weightless fluke.
  3. I have caught them before the sun has risen, at noon, and at night.
  4. I've only had to go once to the ER to get a hook removed, but I have stuck myself more times than I can think of.

I have done that before, but I was getting my lure back.
  6. There is a pond that I fish that sits up on a hill between two areas that are heavily wooded. It's usually always windy up there, even when the rest of the area is calm. If you try and throw something weightless, forget it.
  7. Same as any other contractor. Ask for references.
  8. I sometimes fish a lake like that. I see everyone using ultra light tackle because they never catch anything over a pound. Then one day I saw a guy using heavy tackle and I ask him what he was fishing for. He told me that this was his favorite lake for big bass and that he had caught his PB out of it. You just never know.
  9. This time of year a bank trip starts about 9 AM. We drive out and look at a couple of ponds to see about ice, fishing pressure, and water level. After deciding on a lake we normally take 2 to 3 rods apiece. This works out good because my partner likes cranks and I like plastics. We can cover more water with the different baits, and if the fish are biting, we can put together a pattern pretty quick. We usually stay for 6 to 7 hours, and hit the area pretty good.
  10. When I was little I use to bite split shots all of the time. That's probably what's wrong with me now . Just wash your hands and remember not to put anything in your mouth and you should be ok.
  11. Yo-Zuri is good stuff the only time I have an issue with it is when I hang up. Almost impossible to break. I don't know how many tree limbs I have pulled in when I have snagged a lure.
  12. Jig w/ some kind of a trailer. If they won't hit that it's time to go home.
  13. Went out for about 5 hours yesterday and fished from the shore. Air temp started out around 41 and then finally warmed up to about 50 when the sun came out. I caught one small LM that might have gone 3/4 pound. That was the only bite that we had. The only thing pic worthy was this little guy that was on the road by the truck.
  14. Snowing like mad here. We are suppose to get anywhere from 5 to 9 inches. Some spots may get as much as 11 inches.
  15. CONGRATS!!!
  16. Nice looking bass, good job.
  17. For me its not the rain or the snow. It's the wind. If you don't have something on that can block the wind, you'll be miserable all day.
  18. Sometime it is just easier, and faster, to cut the line off and spool on new line. One more thing to remember is that some lines weaken when they get kinks in them.
  19. Zoom super fluke in white pearl and watermelon, and a slug-o in red shad.
  20. I have several of them that I need to put new hooks on.
  21. I have never called in sick. A first line manager in the dept. I work in told me many years ago that the big bosses do not like sick days. The only time we are expected to be out sick is if we are being hospitalized.
  22. Being able to ID a snake might come in handy.
