  1. Just keep fishing with it and practice. When I started using a jig, it was 6 months before I finally caught a bass using it.
  2. Jig, spinnerbait, or a lipless crank.
  3. I like jigs around deep structure, and around timber. I tend to fish t-rigs more around rocks, and weeds. Usually have one of each rigged up.
  4. WOW, glad you made it out ok.
  5. Good Catch!
  6. Get out and fish more than last year. Hit the 5 pound mark at least once this year. Break my PB.
  7. Thanks for the report. Cool pics.
  8. I fished it once about 20 years ago. Can't remember how I did.
  9. White spinnerbait with white tandem blades.
  10. What gets me are the shifts in the temps. One day it's in the 50's and the next day it's in the low 30's. Last year this time we were in the 80's and holding.
  11. I lift dinks all of the time. If I get a bass any size, I lip it when it get close to me. To me, lifting a bass out with the rod is the same as the bass jumping. I don't want to give the fish a chance to get off.
  12. Sometimes there is something wrong with the reel. I had a sedona that twisted line like crazy. I tried putting line on it several different ways and no matter what I did the line twisted. After I put braid on it and that twisted I got rid of it and bought a new reel.
  13. What are the conditions you are fishing them in?
  14. IMHO, I think that the actual fishing pressure on the lake has a lot to do with it also. Bass are like anything else. You have some that are smart, and some that aren't.
  15. Green Pumpkin, Junebug, Black with red glitter.
  16. Went out Saturday for the third time this year and finally did some catching. Temps were in the low 40's, and windchills were in the mid 30's. Caught three on a 1/4 ounce rat-l-trap. The one in the pic is the largest at 3-0.
  17. Have always caught mine one at a time.
  18. The red bag is the one I take on the boat with me. It holds all plastics, jigs, and tackle. Black bag in the front has all of my cranks in it. The box under the red bag and the tan box on the left hold all the extra cranks, and spare parts. My rod holder is a modified saw horse.
  19. Every once in a while i will run across a beaver dam. There always seems to be fish around them. I would l contact the DNR to see if they have any info on it.
  20. I fish weeds one of two ways. I will either throw a light jig that won't sink into the slop, or if the weeds are matted on the surface, I will use a heavy jig to punch through it to get down to the bottom.
  21. That's a nice bass, congrats!
  22. I draw the line when I see whitecaps on the water.
