  1. Bass are so sluggish this year. Downsize baits and slow things down. My best bites have come from practically dead sticking baits. My best 5 went around 15lb last night fishing from 10pm -12am. All caught slow rolling a chatterbait through grass, these fish are spawned out and want an easy meal.
  2. Has anyone used this rod? I am getting it or a 736c champion. I have a 735c and want a heavier flipping stick for punching / heavy cover. I rarely punch but I want a " backup" jig rod.
  3. lets see them
  4. Ive got a removable deck portion on my boat I would mount them to. I guess I could borrow my dads new bluetooth speakers though.
  5. if i owned a jon boat i would install one.
  6. Thinking about installing a lowrance sonic hub. Has anyone installed one of these on their boat? Does anyone have recommendations for quality marine speakers ? I might just try and install a small head unit powerful enough to put an audio jack in. I dont need much else as I have a cigarette lighter to charge my phone.
  7. My friend keeps a drift sock in his boat incase his trolling motor goes out. They work you just have to be smart about it.
  8. x2 on the boomerang tool. Sharper than most scissors
  9. Sharpies to add black contrast. You can also use a q tip and some dipping dye.
  10. Did that two days in a row. 15lb carp and then a 6-7lb carp. Once on a shakey head the next on a red eye shad. I knew it wasnt a bass after the first 2 seconds. Kind of disappointing.
  11. Doubt you will find any information until after the state tournament, unless someone is really kind to you.
  12. I knew I would be fine . I have had a staff infection before and I know tenderness is a sign of possible infection. Ive seen people get infections from being spiked by a bluegill So I wasnt sure if bass could carry something.
  13. Hey guys I was fishing today and had a dink bass barely hook me in the hand with my treble hooks. It was a brand new crankbait and it was my first fish on it. I felt the hook go in but it didnt go past the barb and when the fish shook the hooks popped right out. I have four tiny marks from the hooks but they didnt really bleed. I am just concerned because my hand is a little bit sore ( tender around the area) and a little red around the area. Is that common? Ive pegged myself before ( above the barb) and it wasnt sore after. It doesnt hurt that bad I was just wondering if I should get it checked out before my hand falls off.
  14. I have to disagree with a few people on here. First off rods come with bait keepers for a reason. Second, most rods can handle an over 1lb flip. Third, if I snag a stick or log that is free floating it isnt more pressure than a fighting fish. The real issue is either neglecting your rating or human error. If you fish a jig on a medium crankbait rod you risk snapping it. If you throw your rods in the truck you risk breaking them. Things like a weight hitting wont cause any not cosmetic damage. If that was the case most rods would be damaged when you let them fall on anything because of the weight of the reel. In summary : As we graduate to better gear we learn to respect the fact that with quality gear comes a quality warranty. Use it.
  15. I think mono can be harder sometimes. I find it harder to backlash braid than mono.
  16. My buddy fishes our club tournaments out of a 50hp tracker and does pretty well. Sure he cant go far but at least he is fishing
  17. jonathan creek is a pretty popular spot. I caught some nice fish in and around moores as well.
  18. I love the MD baits. If you want to save money throw a strike king 3xd.
  19. Where are you staying? Just make sure you pay attention to the buoy markers and your GPS. That lake is dangerous.
  20. Some of the best guys on that lake only caught 12-13lbs so I would say it has been pretty tough.
  21. Thanks guys ill probably pull the trigger soon.
  22. Anyone looking to get rid of their raider? Looking for a possible club donation.
  23. Its currently on sale right now and I am looking for a high speed reel. I love my tatula and am wondering if this reel is worth spending $100 on. I dont want to buy a junk reel as they have been on sale forever yet are not sold out.
  24. Scum frogs for a cheap but great frog. Spro dean rojas for the serious frog fishermen.
  25. Spinnerbait : pre spawn ( fall and spring time around wood / grass, windy days) chatterbait: pre spawn to summer almost all year round ( grass, wood , docks, in wind swim jig: year round, summer, around grass and docks, when it is calmer and the bass are short striking a chatter bait.
