Deep cranking reel
I would change it up depending on the time of the year. Spring/ fall when you're throwing shallow cranks I would use that bb1 pro then deep summer when you toss those big baits I would put it on your big stick. I use a bb1 pro and gen 2 revo winch for my deep cranks. Even if the reel gets worn out it isn't but $60 in parts to get back to better than new condition.

New reel
I havn't been a big fan of my abu reels. Too many issues after heavy use that I am not seeing with my other reels. Is this for in-shore fishing? If not I would go with a different brand / style of reel. You could buy a lews tournament pro for that price or even a shimano curado and have a much better reel.

Quantum Smoke SL30SPTIA
Just wanted to give an honest review after my first month of getting this reel. At first I was battling back and forth between getting a Diawa Balistic and a Shimano stradic ci4+. I finally settled on the smoke as not many people have it in my area and I hadn't heard much about it. After a month of use I've hooked into fish ranging from <1lb to over 10lb and it has preformed flawlessly. The drag is super smooth and I haven't had any issues. Running 15lb powerpro with a 8lb seaguar blue label leader/ 10lb invisx leader for salmon/trout.

Dobyns Advice
You're pretty much spot on with your choices. I would just give the shop a call and they will spend ample time explaining similar rods that do the same job. I've ended up buying more rods than I needed simply because they gave me multiple options. Looking into getting a 703 spinning champion and 705/704cb.

Thinking of buying a budget kayak
Search for used kayaks. Can find tons of deals on used boats with better features.

Sea Eagle STS 10 Inflatable Boat
I don't know a single person that bought an inflatable boat and didnt regret the decision besides someone getting a dingy for a sailboat. For the $1,200 they want for that thing you can buy an awesome used kayak and never have to register it.

Spawn Tips
Time of day is huge around the spawn. Never really mentioned this to you but if you get out when the fish aren't locked on beds but you know what area they spawn in you can usually catch bigger fish just on the edge of the drop off. The females move in, get their business done and head out to deep water. pre/post spawn you'll find lots of 12-14 in male bass guarding fry or making beds. My best bait was always a big topwater/ sub surface bluegill swimbait. Also finally back on here after months lol

Drop Shot Combo

Rod Making Starter Kit
What would be your go to rod building kit? I'm looking to learn how to wrap my own guides for repair purposes. What is your go to epoxy/ wrapping material.

Drop Shot Combo
Old model?

Drop Shot Combo
Is that drop shot rod really whippy? I''m a fan of their split shot rod. That's what I was thinking. The FK does seem to be a little bit tougher.

Drop Shot Combo
Looking for a new drop shot setup. Looking to spend around $500 MSRP when it's all said and done. Mostly fish for smallmouth around Lake Michigan and using heavy weights really isn't an issue. Been looking at the Gloomis E6X drop shot series and St. Croix LTB drop shot rod. For the reel I've been looking at a stradic ci4 and a diawa ballistic. Open to any ideas.

Savvy vs Fury
Been toying around with getting a 736cb glass for chatterbaits. I've been told throwing them on a glass rod makes a world of a difference.

What would you pay for a NIB reel that has been discontinued?
No but I would pay face value on a NIB tournament pro. 5 years of hard use on this thing and its still going strong.

Keeping boat at the dock 24/7
I will say that you should do your research on a facility before you store your boat. Where my buddy keeps his in the winter is almost impossible to pull out alone. An extra 6in on each side goes a long way.

7.3:1 gear ratio question
I normally use a 6.4 for spinnerbaits but it depends on the bait and time of year. If I'm burning them I want to have that high gear ratio.

Cigar pairing
Had a padron 1926 anniversary maduro with jack and also honey jack, it was awesome. That being said I know little to nothing about fine cigars and whiskey. I do know a thing or two about cheap booze and gas station cigars hahaha

G. Loomis E6X Casting Rods
I have 4 of them in my shop and I really like how they feel. I'm tempted to buy the mag-lite drop shot rod but am pretty skeptical because I usually boat flip my fish up the seawalls where I fish.

KVD line and lure, does it actually work?
I use it on my line just after winter before I spool up with fresh line. It won't fix bad line but it will sure help make an unruly line more manageable. If the line you purchase requires it out of the box then you either have an inferior line or simply a bad batch.

cranking reel..Revo Winch, BB1 Pro or Tatula HD
Going to chime in here and say that once you reel a BB1 Pro in a 5.5.1 ratio you will realize that it is a multi-stop reverse which is different than the Revo winch. I've broken too many new revos to recommend them or buy them again.

Jitter bug hookset!!?
I found that a medium action rod made the difference on lighter topwaters. Pop r's cast better and I dont pull them out as often.

Culling system
Cull beam is the most important part. But living in IL i've learned that its a game of ounces. I've had times where all 5 fish look almost identical.

Tiller vs. Side Console
I love my buddies tiller. It's a similar layout to the boat you posted. That being said we can fish tournaments out of his console boat. If I lived in the area his tiller boat is located I dont think I would own anything else. Another buddy had a really nice lund tiller but he couldnt use it in our college tournaments which was a huge downside. He also used it for musky fishing so not having a console made for tons of casting room.
