  1. They usually throw those things in cabelas bargain cave after duck hunting season ends.
  2. 2nd place at BassFest fishing ledges this past summer. I wouldn't say he'll never win another tournament past may
  3. BPS isn't much better. They've got a good amount of stuff but don't carry a few key brands. Wish we had a bass fishing superstore in the city along the likes of the Cabin KY Lake
  4. I don't use silent lipless baits. It just seems to defeat the purpose of the bait. I understand that you get a yo-yo action and can rip it free from the grass but I just don't put them into my lineup. If they're biting a rat-l-trap it doesn't matter if its a SK , BL, Booyah, EXcalibur, pradco knockoff etc etc. If the fish want that noise they're going to bite whatever comes close. That being said @ww2farmer has a good point. Throwing something new can really stir the pot up. Hence why I just picked up some of the SK tungsten 2 taps or whatever they're called.
  5. That might be a good call. I get st croixs pretty cheap so that may be my best option. Though I was thinking of getting a fenwick hmg or something along those lines. Just interested to hear if guys have a specific use for a mh spinning rod.
  6. Looking for a spinning jig and worm rod for my friends/family that haven't or cant use baitcasters. I want something that I can use on the side. Maybe for power drop shotting.
  7. They're VMC sureset hooks. Haven't seen them on a DT in a few years. Just new old stock.
  8. Never hand an issue using a missile baits domb. I just want a bait that can slip through the grass without getting hung.
  9. 735c champion. Jigs, Trigs, frogs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits etc etc Its the rod you want. If you didn't like it and wanted to sell it I don't think it would last a day in the flea market. Dobyns also lets you upgrade. The fish in my profile picture was caught on the 745c, as you can see its got a chatterbait with a LFT magic shad hanging out of its mouth.
  10. Exactly this. I was considering one but after so convincing from a friend I realized it wasn't worth the $300 price point. Try and find a local shop that carries them. They'll usually give discounts on discontinued reels.
  11. Go dobyns. The extreme hp is just the extreme rod with hp added to the logo. No change to the blank. Just changed the look at bit to make it seem fresh. It's a pretty powerful rod. @Robert Riley has that rod.
  12. I feel like longer rods are easier to learn on. I normally give my friends my 7ftmh to learn on with a 1/2 jig. Tune your reels correctly and you will have 0 issues.
  13. If I had $20 to spend I would buy 3/0 worm hooks, senkos, and bullet weights. If I have more cash to spend ewg hooks, drop shot hooks, and baby brush hogs. So many options and the best rigs to catch numbers. T-rigs and wacky rigs.
  14. First things first I wouldn't seal the battery in a box permanently. That will only lead to headaches down the road, you want to have your batteries ventilated. As for the fuse just install an inline fuse by splicing it in and connect the provided cables to the battery.
  15. Some tournaments require a console.
  16. http://www.fulkscustomcranks.com/ His paint jobs are good and if you're going for a KO you will be impressed.
  17. Either a trokar tournament tube hook or eagle claw lazer sharp tube hook for anyone interested.
  18. War eagle McClelland Finesse Spinnerbait, Nichols Pulsator, Mac's Tackle
  19. If you can fish Clinton I suggest you head there. It will be more of a pre-spawn bite and just a lot easier to fish IMO. Plus April 1 the hot arm opens up. These two came on march 18th last year from shore. Had boat issues and couldnt get the big motor to turn over and it was too windy to run only on the TM.
  20. He isn't kidding. He's got a spreadsheet going with his setups that are ready to go.
  21. Honestly I would buy a pflueger president combo for $70. Then spend the rest of that cash on a dobyns champion and baitcaster of your choice. Just need to watch your line on a weightless senko rod. If you really want a slick rig look at the diawa balistic in a 2500 size, 3000 is ok but I prefer smaller reels. St croix avid is a nice rod
  22. Gamakatsu Offset G-Lock Worm Hook is an awesome hook. I use them for smallie beavers too.
  23. First review had me rolling: " I just put the 17lb on my Curado and its like casting an extension cord. It's the coolest looking line I've seen, but leave 17lb on the shelf unless you are fishing for Jaws or weed eating! "
  24. https://www.another site.com/Chompers/Chompers-Super-Sinker.cfm I remember seeing them around just never used them. I think they figured that since stickbaits were so popular and brush hogs were hot then a stickbait looking brush hog would be a gold mine.
  25. Sometimes the cover necessitates a big hook but the bite is tough. In those instances I take my normal jigs trim the skirts down and make them flare out. I also take a few strands off of the weed guard. Sometimes I'll take a finesse jig trim off a good amount of the skirt and take the weed guard way down sometimes even off.
