  1. Dont work. Dont even buy a pack. Just give me all of them and ill throw them away for you.
  2. Ranger stopped using wood in the late 80s. 91 should be all fiberglass. That being said even fiberglass transoms go bad
  3. It's more about how you fish the bait than what bait. If you can hit cover then you don't need rattles. The deflections cause more strikes imo. That being said I like the strike king 1.5s for the money. Spro little johns for their build quality and paint jobs, and hooks. The rick clunns can be killer too. Havnt used the lucky crafts because ive got a lot of spro.
  4. This is the one I would be looking at. Same shop. http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2008-RANGER-188VS-Comanche-102563345
  5. green pumpkin swimjig with a green pumpkin curly tail grub. Chatterbait with lft magic shad. Only two baits you need to catch fish.
  6. Just so you can fill less line. Rather than having to back a 2500-3000 sized reel with braid you can just go straight fluoro and not spool on 150yd of 6lb test.
  7. That 735c is the swiss army knife of my rod arsenal. Awesome for jigs , frogs, and chatterbaits. Little bit stiff for spinnerbaits but still decent. It's getting a little bit late for frogs so I would spool that reel up with 15lb fluoro for flipping. You can get away with braid but I have 0 confidence in flipping braid. I always think they see the line. As the other guys can prove on this forum it, braid doesnt matter.
  8. Pretty much answered my question. Don't know if I will have the boat if someone is using it for a tournament.
  9. What's the deal with boaters? My friends been wanting to go on a trip to KY but I dont know if I can get the boat down there. He's a rookie but I've fished it a ton. Wouldn't even have to leave moors to catch fish.
  10. As stated above check out the other threads on senkos. To answer your question without having to skim through the 700 pages of senko information just follow this guide. You only need 2 colors Black and blue, Green pumpkin. 5in senko.
  11. I wouldn't have bought my gen 3 revo stx. After my gen 2 broke I had it traded in for a gen 3. This gen 3 still has problems. Should have just bought another lews.
  12. My thought is that it might have some grit inside of the thumb bar. All of my abus have came over greased and I beat the hell out of this reel. Im 90% sure there must be some build up inside. Going to clean it out and give it a shot. If that doesnt work i'll buy a replacement. http://www.hedgehog-studio.co.jp/product/1285
  13. palomar and powerpro super slick.
  14. Take the reels off and put them in the passenger seat. Put some sort of rod glove on them and strap them together with pipe cleaner or velcro cable ties. I havnt found a car this doesnt work in. Maybe a really small sports car wont work but I have seen it work in mustangs and 2 door bmws.
  15. I have a revo stc gen 3 with a very sticky release button. Most of the time it takes more effort than normal to push the release, it just feels like it is grinding on something. I have taken the reel apart to clean it but I cannot seem to get the thumb bar to work like it did out of the box. Also the spool tensioner no longer works 100%. When I tighten it down I get about 75% tight before I even get it to click or adjust the tension. What can I do to fix this reel besides sending it out to someone else to fix? I want to be able to take car of my own gear.
  16. What website is the best to find current lake temperatures? I cannot find a website that will give me current water temperatures on a local lake.
  17. Call a team with a school and ask them for your state regulations. You may need a boat with a steering wheel. I have seen kids in my state fish out of a jon boat. You also need a boater that I believe is at least 21 y/o.
  18. 9 crankbaits, 22 jigs, 10 bags of plastics, 5 hooks, 3 packs of tungsten worm weights, 4 drop shot weights, 2 buzz baits, 2 spinnerbaits, 4 spools of line, 2 plano boxes. On top of the custom baits/ jdm baits I bought this past week, this is one expensive tournament.
  19. UPS cost me about $28 from IL to California. That being said I was charged city taxes so its probably more like $26. Still better to ship with a pvc tube like dobyns does.
  20. Walmart clearance bin baits normally cost $1 to $1.50. During the winter you can normally find baits that cost $6-10 for $1.50-$3 on clearance. Big bites baits are almost .99cents a pack at DSG. The cost of lures adds up but in the end it isn't that bad if you shop around.
  21. Delaware Valley Tackle should know what you need
  22. If you don't know what those do I suggest you don't try to fix anything yourself on the boat lol
  23. Steve is a great guy and a buddy of mine. He kicked I disagree on delevan about a month ago. Couldnt land any big fish and he was pounding em
  24. There was an interesting article about this recently about not using huge hooksets. Hopefully someone can find it and link it for you. The idea is that the bass has your bait further back in its mouth and by some leaning and reeling you have a better chance of hooking them than rearing back and slamming the hook home. Its easy to do with a swim jig or chatterbait but when it comes to a flipping jig I always slam the hook back.
