Outboard Motor Loud
This may have nothing to do with it, but definitely worth checking out. You say it sound slike it is out of the water. Have you checked to b e sure the water(coolant) is circulating to cool the motoe. Check for any obstructions in the water intake. There also might be something loose on the motor, ie muffler, header???? But I am no mechanic, but I would defintiely check these out.

I would think a small bag or two that you find in electronig component boxes or shoes, etc. By the way, where can you buy those? Does Wally's World sell 'em?

Bass Boat Security for Outdoor storage
For those of you who park your bass Boat outdoors, what security precautions do you take to prevent your boat from getting stolen? I am looking for ideas how to prevent, or at least make it more difficult to get my new boat ripped off.

Knot to secure hook to bow line
To answer your question, I have seen a double square knot come loose when wet. In fact, i did that once and my boat came loose and started floating away. I use a double clinch knot now! As far as the way to launch your boat, if you can do the way Ben suggests without getting your feet wet, it is a better way. If you cannot do it without getting feet wet, jeffp12 way is best. I have had to use jeffs way more times than not.

Anchor's
I just bought a new 18 foot bass boat and I plan to have an anchor in it. There are times I find a great spot and odnt want to continually have to adjust the bpat position, have all the Tm noise, etc. Nothing wrong with an anchor. The time you don't have it, is the time you WILL need it!

I did it! I pulled the trigger on a new boat today
I wasn't able to take any pictures this weekend. It rained the entire weekend!! So I decided to provide this link for the boat itself. My boat is a dark green. http://www.fisherboats.com/boat/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.boatMotors&boat=1804

Can a battery be overcharged?
Well I guess I stand corrected as well! Or as LBH says, "re-educated".. Makes sense what Fred Wehmeyer said. Great thread of information! Thanks!

Can a battery be overcharged?
This is not a wives tales! You should not leave a battery on a concrete floor. If you ever go look at stores that sell batteries, you will notice there are always a piece of wood beneath the battery. I had a Mechanic tell me once NOT to leave a battery on a concrete floor. This guy has been a mechanic all his life and I trust him. I would not take the risk myself.

I did it! I pulled the trigger on a new boat today
Yeah. I picked it up just a few hours ago! It is awesome. My old boat is sitting out in the driveway with a cover on it. My new boat is sitting at an angle taking up 2/3's of my garage. I think the garage extension is getting more to "when" not "if"! LOL ;D ;D It is so sweet to see it sitting in my garage. My son got home form college today just in time to go with me to pick it up. Any of you guys are welcome if you are ever in the Sacramento area, let me know. 'Ol Hookhead and I are gonna hook up sometime soon and do some fishing. He lives rather close to me.

Good memory Muddpuppy! LOL! It's funny you bring this up. I am getting some estimate to now to extend my garage ;D ;D Trouble is, I bought a new boat, now need a place to store it! Boy, this fishin'stuff gets expensive! ;D ;D I cant widen my garage becasue of the house layout and the lot size. So I am looking into having my two car extended by 20', to make it a 4 car tandem. Storage will be my boat, and a shop. Cars will probably stay in the driveway! ;D

Suggestions for a new FF w/ GPS
I agree the 480 looks good, i am just wondering if I shouldn't go for color. What are your opinions on color vs: grey scale?

Need Your Deck Ideas!!!!
I would suggest using marine plywood, or at least pressure treated. I think standard plywood may cause you to have some mildew/mold problems.

Enough is enough!!!
With all due respect, the above quote is not about "enough is enough", but only serves to fan the flames. To be credible, any attempt to suppress a thread must come from someone with a neutral unbiased stance. However, the quote above vehemently defends one side. I also noticed you live in California, hmmm : Roger RoLo, My original intent was not to "fan the flames" but to stop all the dissing of these guys. My intent WAS to suppress the thread of personal attacks against these guys, as these are stand up guys. Yes, I am guilty of vehemently defending one side...the side of the three guys at Dixon! GUILTY! Your honor! As far as living in California, yes I do. Ihave since 1997, originally from Indiana. I am a natural born Hoosier. Frankly, I would rather the WR came from Indiana, but I don't really care where it comes from. I also noticed you live in Florida, hmmmmm )

Suggestions for a new FF w/ GPS
I have a little bit of money left after buying my boat. Now I need to buy an additional FishFinder. I'd like to get a decent one with GPS for around $500-$700. Any suggestions? Not real knowledgeable about any other features I may need. Any help with this is appreciated. Thanks!

I did it! I pulled the trigger on a new boat today
Well after 2 years of thinking about buying a new boat, I finally pulled the trigger!! I am picking up my new Fisher Pro Hawk 180 on Friday. It will be powered by a Merc 115 EFi 4 stroke. I will finally be able to get out on some larger bodies of water and start fishing some tourneys with my son. I looked around at used and considered the depreciatian hit I know I;m taking, But, I plan on having this boat for a long time, and I really diddn't want to buy any one else's problems. By buying before end of month I get an additional 3 yr extended warranty on top of normal warranty on the Merc. I thought buying my boat was too easy with the wife. After she and I went up to close the deal, she asked to stop and look at new bedroom furniture today for our Master Bedroom.... Guess what? Yeah, you got it! Anyway, I knew it was too easy!! ;D ;D ;D
