  1. As a boy growing up, my grandpa used to tell me, if the cows are standing up, it's a good day to fish. If the cows are laying around, it's a bad day to fish. Moral of the story, check out the cows on your way to the lake.

No Offense RattlinRogue, but I think since they would be representing all of BassResource.com (you and me and everyone here on the board) I think the name should be representative of the forum. So how about BassResource.commers Just a thought.... RR, Great Fish by the way! I'm jealous! ;D
  3. Char-lie....Char-lie.....Char-Lie......Char-lie.....Char-lie Hey Charlie, we're calling you OUT!
  4. Char-lie,..Char-lie,..Char-lie,..Char-lie,.. Char-lie,.. .....
  5. OK, I'll start the Chant... Everybody chime in and maybe Charlie will "hear" us. Char-lie,..Char-lie,..Char-lie,..Char-lie,.. Char-lie,.. .....
  6. Recreational only. It is the best stress release I have. I am addicted to it. Unfortunately, I only get about 4-5 hrs of fishing a week.
  7. Congrats Roadwarrior! Good to have you helping out as well!! :D
  8. That's great YoungBassMaster! We are all proud of you! Great job! Tell your mom and dad that is worth at least a new GLoomis and a the new Curado ;D ;D
  9. We'll have to start calling you Jr.....RoadWarrior, Jr. That is! ;D Who;s your Daddy?
  10. COngrats to both Russ and Chris! The Forum POLICE force has grown.....We won't be able to get away with anything now! Just kidding! Great choices! With winter coming, I expect more activity on this site. Sounds like a great time to expand the staff! Best of luck, boys!
  11. First off. Always take a camera whenyou go fishing. I take one of those "disposable" cameras. Always take a small tape measure and decent scale. But to answer your question. I would try my best to find a witness, measure, weigh, take a bunch of pictures. Maybe even call the DNR and see if one of the boys would come on down and take a look. It would probably help to have one of those guys witness it.
  12. I considered one of these before. After serious thought, I had to ask myself and my wife how often would we as a family really use it for the lake, ie. skiing, etc. After much discussion we realized we would not use it anywhere nears as much as I would for fishing, so I scrapped the idea. Nothing worse than being stuck with a "fishing boat" that really isn't what you feel comfortable with when you are out after the bigguns!
  13. Why would you want your depth/fish finder on in 3 ft of water? ???
  14. 4-5 inch lizard on a C-rig... Killed them last week with this. What a fight they give!
  15. I must have a problem with my computer. Google earth just doesn't seem to want to work ...I can get to the globe, but when I start to zoom in it just kinda goes berzerk.
  16. It's funny you mentioned that RW.. The instant I picked it up I thought of you. I thought you would be disappointed. But as Basshammer said, you might be glad it wa not named.
  17. try googlemaps.com and terraserver.com pretty decent maps, but I have to believe there are better ones, just haven't found them yet.
  18. For the bottom weight you could also use a jig and increase your odds.
  19. Cephkiller, are you talking about Merom?
  20. I agree with those who have said you did the right thing. It is not worth getting killed over, literally. the problem with the other ideas is that if you put stuff in their gas tank or other things like that, they would not learn ie., tie the incidents together. You have to find some way for them to learn the lesson from their actions. (Maybe draw a picture of their boat next to you, with a key, on the driver side door ) That would definitely tie the incidents together for them. You could draw the main guy and give him a name of "Dick" with an arrow pointing to him. Call it Revenge art... Just hope they don't see you again or know your vehicle.
  21. Great story Flyrod! I am sure the young ( now middle aged) Mexican boy has told that story more times than you have probably thought about it!. That was probably one of the major highlights in his young life. Great story! I am sure your friend is catching the bigguns up with St. Peter!
  22. What you boys need to do to get Fishing 101 in high schools is to get some interested teachers (who like to fish) and get them to help you. Maybe a school board member (who likes to fish) as well. Focus on those who like fishing and have some influnece. I wish we had it in my high school, way back when. Can't hurt to start asking!
  23. If I catch a fish on a certain plastic, I'll fish it until it won't stay on the hook or just looks too torn up. Then I'll put on another of the same. GYCB would love you if you changed after each fish! LOL. Some would say, you practically do anyway.. I have found Senkos are good for about 3 fish (at most) until too torn up to stay on hook.
  24. And mine! Ain't we lucky! ;D
