  3. RW, are you weighting those tubes with sliding, pegged or snugged up in the tube??
  4. I basically do the same as you; almost the exact same baits. I like to be ready when I hit the water rather than having to rig up on the water. I'm curious to hear other responses, as maybe they will help me improve my fishing.
  5. 420 club???? OK, I give....what is the 420 club? ???

  9. Seems like a nice lake for a float tube!
  10. I fished Lake Englebright. Probably not the best lake, however. But I only have a 12 ft boat so I can't get it on the bigger lakes. But I am going fishing on Oroville next Saturday with a buddy. He has a bigger boat and we are going late afternoon and doing some night fishing and early AM fishing on Sunday. I've never fished Oroville before...any suggestions for hot spots?? ???
  11. Hey LBH, Nice catch, huh? (Pun intended!) ;D
  12. Yeah, I have fished clear water. I was out this morning in water so clear, i could see down 20 feet! Yeah 20 feet. I noticed the fish were beginning to school up and they were very tough to catch. They would follow the baits, and about the time the get to within 5-10 feet of the boat, they would casually turn and move away. It was like they would look up and say, "SHSSSSH, : There's a guy with a fishing rod in that boat"!! Very frustrating ???
  13. Isn't it funny. Us guys typically hate to shop. Going to the mall with the wife??? No way! She can go when I take my Sat. afternoon naps. Face it, we hate to shop!!! Unless of course, it is to BPS or our favorite tackle shop. And usually we always find a way to justify our large expenditures..at least to ourselves. Our wive's might differ, but it never stops us, does it? Funny, ain't it?
  14. Heck, I'm 50 and feel that way all day Friday. I sitting here at 8:40 PM Friday night, knowing that I am getting up in 5+ hours (if I even go to sleep) and going fishin'! Sometimes I get so excited Friday nights I have a hard time sleeping ;D ;D Yeah, it happens!

  19. Of all the discussion about "Best Angler " on other threads, if you had an opportunity to fish with any of them for a day, who would you choose AND WHY??? I would like to spend a day with Bill Dance...Why? Good ol' Boy and a lot of years of experience. Would be an enjoyable outing! How about you?
  20. I have had pretty good success with the bow and arrow method. One day I was out fishing with my son and he got hung up. He was horsing it, etc and I suggessted he just tighten the line hold the rod straight up and "fling " the line. He did this a couple of times anf the lure came unsnagged. He did this three time that morning. He thought I was the smartest guy on earth!! ;D PS: I do however think I will buy a lure retriever, it is probably a bettter way, plus less stress put on your gear and line.
  21. Pfleuger President Baitcaster
  22. Raul, where might one buy these baits? Give it up! ;D
  23. Osama! By "stump hanging" or slowly burning him on a spit?
  24. I would assume it is because smallies require cooler water, and water with some flow in it. Ponds probably get too warm and cannot sustain the environment needed by smallies. I could be wrong, though.
  25. Slow Smallmouth in rivers or lakes
