Changing oil ...Any mechanics???
I have just changed the oil in my Mercury 115 HP EFI, including the oil filter. The manual states the motor takes 5 quarts. I completely drained the motor, and replenished with 5 qts of Mercury Oil. I have not started the engine yet. I checked the dip stick and the oil is very far up the stick, way past the XXXX marks. I understand the filter has not filled yet and other parts of the engine that would hold some amount of oil, but my question is this. Will the oil level stabilzed where it should after running a while, or should I drain a bit, just to be safe? I'd like to get a handle on this before I leave for a fishing trip Sat. morning. Thanks in advance!

Pre Tournament Jitters
I'm still not sure what to do about the problem, but usually the farther we get into the season, the less it affects me. But I know I'm not in the wrong sport. Out of 15 tournaments that I fished last year, I won 9 of them, and the other 6, I placed in the top 4. :-/ Maybe I'll get this thing figured out this year. Thanks guys.

Big smallmouth in California Lakes.
I live out in the basic same "neck of the woods" as Fish Chris. I thik FC is being a little modest. Yes the waters are cooler, deeper, clearer and swifter than the midwestern lakes I grew up with. So yeah the water is conducive to smallies. But the fact is ole FC doesn't fish, he hunts! He is targeting the bigguns and doing a darn good job of it. His skill is the reason he is catching these fish.

CMA Tonight!
That was a great show! Glad to see Brooks and Dunn win the "Song of the year" with "Believe". That is an awesome song. I believe they won video of the year as well for that song. I must have good taste, because about a month ago, I went out and bought their CD, only because of that song. I buy maybe 2 music cd's a year. Who'd a thought?

Indian Chief
Recently an old Indian chief sat in his hut on the reservation, smoking a Ceremonial pipe and eyeing two U.S. Government officials sent by the President to interview him. "Chief Two Eagles" asked one official, "You have observed the white man for 90 years. You've seen his wars and his technological advances. You've seen his progress, and the damage he's done." The Chief nodded in agreement. The official continued, "Considering all these events, in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong?" The Chief stared at the government officials for over a minute and then calmly replied . "When white man found the land, Indians were running it. No taxes, No debt, Plenty buffalo, Plenty beaver, Women did all the work, Medicine man free, Indian man spent all day hunting and fishing, All night having sex." Then the chief leaned back and smiled . "Only white man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that."

Never underestimate............
Thats was great, Russ! Gave me goose bumps. I think if we all think long and hard enough, we could all come up with similar endearing stories from our earlier life. Thanks!

Hey Guys, long time, no talk
Hope eveyone is doing well! I know it' s been a long time (Since July) that i have been on the forum. Kinda went through a funk afte the wife thing. She is doing fine. Just that with the scare, fishing didn't seem all that important anymore. I am slowly trying to get myself back in the fishing mood. Unfortunately, the colder weather is coming. Hope to get out a few times befor it is too cold. I'd better, especially after buyiong the new boat this year Anyway, just wanted to say hello. Looks like a lot of new members! That is great! Sorry for my absence. But it looks like everything is going well here! Later!

If you caught a new state record ..........
I definitely would! Fishing is my passion. Granted I know I am not anywhere near as good as most on this board. I fish mainly for the serenity of it all. However, if I caught a SR I would go to the trouble of certifying it as I could then make my mark on the sport of fishing. Now if I acaught a WR, I wouldfind a way to make enough to retire and fish as often as possible. Selfish? You bet!
