Pappa, when I was in high school we dressed out for our basketball games in a specific ritual manner. This was for good luck. My teammates would wear the same clothes for every game until we lost. Of course they were clean items and thank goodness, did not smell bad. Now, if we lost the game we would do something different and continue doing this new ritual until we lost another game and we made another change to getting dressed out. I almost ran out of ways to get dressed for the games in high school. Now, my fishing ritual consists of going to the garage and start putting the baits together in April for my fun fishing and tournaments. I do not have any ritual to load or launch the boat. My Cajun grandmother was very superstitious and passed that quality along to me and I am very superstitious during LSU football and baseball games. If the Fighting Tigers are doing well I continue to wear the same outfit and have all of the furniture and quilts in the the same position until they lose and then I change things around. As long as you have confidence in your rituals you will do great!

Will continue to throw the color until I think the "pattern" is over for that color and presentation. I then pick up another color of the same crankbait and throw it to note if they will hit it. If they do not hit it, I change baits and presentations. My problem is that I get stubborn and refuse to change baits or colors thinking that the bass really want what I am throwing. In reality, they are telling me they don't want what I am throwing.

It takes a lot of money to run a high level college athletics program and football is the main power behind the financial support for the non-revenue sports. The discussion about expanding the five conferences into 16 teams and breaking off from the NCAA has been discussed on sports talk shows for a few years but when it comes to money the Big Ten and SEC seem to want to stay with their current members so they will not have to water down the money tree. Here is what happened in the SEC for the 2018-19 year which ended on August 31, 2019. It could be higher for the 2019-20 year with LSU winning the national football championship. As stated many times, "follow the money!" "If there was ever any doubt that SEC football is big business, consider this. SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey announced that approximately $651.0 million of total revenue was divided among the 14 universities of the Southeastern Conference for the 2018-19 fiscal year, which ended August 31, 2019. The total includes $624.2 million distributed from the conference office, as well as $26.8 million retained by institutions that participated in 2018-19 football bowl games to offset travel and other related bowl expenses. The average amount distributed from the conference office, excluding bowl money retained by participants, was slightly over $44.6 million per school."

Awful. When I see boats together in one place I always think about what would happen should a fire break out. There was a boat storage warehouse that went up in flames in Virginia Beach a number of years ago but luckily no one was injured. I forgot how many boats were lost but there were a lot. This is a horrible tragedy with the loss of life. So many families impacted. Sad day.

I got permission to fish the ponds at a golf course before and after the players get to the hole by the pond. One pond is very big and beautiful; a second is full of turtles; and a third is small and in the open. So I fished the beautiful pond and caught nine, two being over 2.5 pounds while the others were dinks. But they were green so they count. Thanks for your input. I will continue to fish the golf course pond for as long as I can and bring my two grandkids with me when possible.

Buggs Island vs. Lake Gaston Two totally different types of fishing environments. Lake Gaston Water levels usually stay the same but will go up and down depending on what the Corps does. Not as big as Buggs. Lots of creeks and places to fish plus the main lake. Lots of jet skiers and ski boats during the summer. Many tournaments on the lake starting in March. All types of structure for you to fish. Stay in motels in South Hill that have electrical outlets to charge batteries at night unless you rent a cabin on the lake. Poplar Creek ramp is free. Buggs Island Water levels go up and down. 300 is normal pool. 305 and up means the water is "in the bushes" which means good creek fishing. Corps pulls water over the dam and into Lake Gaston at any time causing fish to wake up and start to feed. Check out the pool level before you go to Buggs: http://www.kerrlakeguide.com/water_level Read what the web page states about the water levels. Very large lake with creeks all over the place. Eastland is a good one if the water is "in the bushes." Lots of big tournaments out of Occoneechee State Park ramp on weekends starting in March. State Park has nice cottages to stay. My wife and I love to stay at the state park as the cottages are outstanding. Gbassman, may I make a suggestion? Purchase a pack of trick worms and swamp crawlers and do the following: Fill your bathtub with water. Rig both the trick worm and swamp crawler on a shaky head jig head of your choice. Place jig head and worm on bottom of tub. See which ones float. And you can just float the trickand swamp crawler worms in the bathtub water (or in your sink) to see which ones float. I use the jig heads from MegaStrike and let me tell you what I did. I took one of the MegaStrike jig heads and a trick worm to my local indoor swimming pool and rigged it as I would if I was fishing. I dropped the jig head into the pool to see if the trick worm would stand up. I went to the bottom of the pool to see what happened. The Zoom trick worm stood at attention with the jig head on the bottom. So you use the bathtub tricks and you will find out quickly which trick and swamp crawler worms float and which ones sink.
