And the Winner is...
Alton is a class act and I am so glad he won the Classic. I liked all of the six finalists and it is nice to see someone who has done so much for our sport to finally get the spotlight and financial rewards. For you guys who want to be pro bass fishermen, Alton Jones is someone to emulate. And note his age. He is not a young spring chicken. Congrats to Alton, and all of the other 49 pros in the tournament.

Split Grips
Nice job, Dave. Keep up the good work.

bass, EVERYWHERE
Hester, You need to get out of the house and go fishing. You have too much time on your hands. How about reorganizing your tackle; watching a few fishing videos; visiting some tackle shops; attending a seminar; reading a fishing book; and getting your boat's equipment cleaned and organized. As for having 9 feet of water all over the USA, I would like to see the mathematics involved.

dealing with line memory (*cough, P-Line CXX, cough*)
Hey Chris, Georgia Tech is one of the leading engineering schools in the country so how about you doing a project to see what can be done, from an engineering standpoint, to reduce or eliminate memory in fishing line? It would be a wonderful project; you will receive an A for doing it; and maybe you will invent either a compound or a line that has lessor no memory and can have a small diameter with a very high abraision resistance and test. Then you can market it; make millions; become a professional bass fisherman; have to fight all of the models off all the time; buy Lake Lanier; and retire at around 25. Seriously, maybe you can do some work on eliminating or removing line memory while at Georgia Tech before those Dawgs acroos the way going East figure it out first. ;D P.S. Try silicone or DVD's Lure and Line Conditioning spray to help remove the memory.

WBT Championship
First, it was LSU winning the BCS title. Next, Tennessee defeated #1 Memphis in basketball. And now.... GREENVILLE, S.C. Judy Wong, the veteran angler and grandmother from Many, Louisiana, put the town near Toledo Bend on the world stage Saturday when she took home the Women's Bassmaster World title. Wong caught five bass weighing six pounds, five ounces on Saturday's final day to edge last year's women's champion Pam Martin-Wells by six ounces, 26-10 to 26-4. The South is on a roll!

How many bass do you catch a year?
I don't keep track. I would assume at least 100 to 150, and probably more. I just catch and release and have a good time. Fishing is an escape from work and family obligations and problems and the last thing I want to do is mess it up with statistics.

Worst Website on the Planet
It would be nice if ESPN had an easy to find listing of the Classic events, especially the standings. You have to hunt to find the standings link which is frustrating on the Bassmaster.com site. I know you could do a much more professional job so hopefully you will have a career in being a webmaster for a large organization. I send or call ESPN to express my disgust with their web site but you know the feedback falls on deaf ears, if they are read at all, so why waste your time?

Fisherman
Nope, but it is good song. And by the way, if you ask your baseball coach about Dustin Galbraith he will know the boy. Dustin is the guy who lives in Sandston but attends Douglas Freeman and plays ball for Douglas Freeman. Dustin will be playing for the University of West Virginia next year. Douglas Freeman does not play your school according to Dustin's father. Maybe you all will meet in the playoffs at the end of the season. And now you have a song to sing while fishing. It sure beats Zona's tune he has been singing.

Goin fishin today.........
Actually JJ, you did great. Remember to wear your PFD at all time when out in the water this time of the year. And hopefully you have someone to go with you as there is safety in numbers.

PARTY ON ROCKY TOP TONIGHT!
The SEC rocks. LSU wins the BCS. Now for Tennessee men to take the NCAA men's tournament. LSU or Tennessee women to take the NCAA women's tournament. LSU women to take the women's NCAA track and field championships. Arkansas men to take the men's NCAA track and field championships. Vandy, LSU or State to take the College World Series. Of course, the odds are against all of this occurring but it is fun to think it could happen.

OK dumb move with my battery, what are my options
You can take the battery to your local gasoline station and have them test it for its power. Or...you can do as Branuss said and take it back and get a new one. I would take it back. I am sure stupidity is covered but you are under no obligation to tell them what happended. And since you may get only a pro-rata exchange rate please take it back ASAP.

American Rodsmiths?
Chris, I think they are made in China. Just kidding. No, I don't have them but I have seen them before and they do look good. Too bad I have enough rods, although how many are actually enough. Please post your story about attending the Classic. Who did you see; what did you get; any tips you picked up; what is the new stuff coming out; etc.???? Let us know. Thanks.

Finished the conversion (Now with pics)!!!
Well Tyler, it is about time you finished. Just kidding. Can't wait to see the pics and have you tell us about it and what problems you encountered and how you overcame them. Should be a great post when you can put the pics on the forum. In advance, congratulations and have fun with the boat.

Clemens BUSTED?
Thanks, Burley. I wonder when we will hear the results of the DNA tests on the needles that the trainer kept? And during the hearings the trainer just sat there and you could tell he was upset at what he had to tell the inquest. But he never changed what he said even when the congressmen attacked him. Clemens was not telling the entire truth as per the experts interviewed on TV when they discussed his body language. Should be getting more and more interesting especially in light of many of the inquest members praising Clemens as a great guy. Stay tuned.

public apology to Muddy
Thank you for serving our country. So sorry our population has no idea of how the military operates and what a fantastic job it does wherever it is sent. Let me know if you get stationed in Virginia so we can go fishing.
