Under the seats in my Tracker 185. I upgraded to a three-bank charger when I upgraded trolling motor system from 12 to 24 volts.

I always start the motor at home before I head out. I usually do this the day before, late in the afternoonor evening. Never had trouble with motor but one time when I tested trolling motor (yes, you test your trolling motor before venturing out) it failed. Seems one of the wires was cut at BPS when they worked on the boat. Missed one tournament due to the trolling motor failure. A word to the wise....always, always start your motor before you leave home and check your trolllng motor and batteries. Second word to the wise.....turn off the ignition and take key with you after you have tested the motor!!!

Do you guys get their e-mails? Very interesting with some good information. Try to get them.

I love to prefish but I have found the following: 1. Business and social life comes first - helps with marriage. 2. What happens when you prefish may not be the same on tournament day. 3. When I prefish I do more scouting and searching for where the fish SHOULD be on tournament day. I make lots of notes on maps and with sonar unit. 4. If tournament is far away I may not prefish it if means I have to stay in a motel for another evening. 5. Most of us know the waters we tournament fish so prefishing is just an excuse to go out and have some fun. The most important things you can do when planning your tournament is: 1. Study the map for drop offs, islands, oxbows. 2. See lake and mark cover and structure. 3. Study map again. 4. Pick out a creek or other area and fish that and do not run all over the place trying to locate fish. 5. Study map. 6. Look for boat docks, creeks, trees in water, etc. when you visit the location to prefish. 7. Get on internet and find articles or blogs on the place you will be fishing. 8. Study the map. 9. Get another map of the same body of water and study it. 10, Plan ahead and see if there are any books or Corps of Engineers maps of the body of water and see what they say. 11. Visit a local tackle shop and get a macro view of the area and what baits to use and where a good place to fish can be found. 12. Did I say get a map and study it? Prefishing is always fun, especially if you take another guy in the same tournament with you. But it is more important to know the body of water and what baits and techniques will work on tournament day. And with all that planning hope you can catch one fish an hour! ;D

Fantastic buy. I assume it was owned by the Mafia and they used it to dump bodies in the water and now they need to get rid of it quick before the Feds find it. Overall, I would suggest picking it up. It really sounds like a good deal.

Livingston, 70 pounds? You will fly like a rocket in a jon boat with 70 pounds of thrust set on a "5" setting. Like fly across the water. 40 pounds should be sufficient. And you are looking for an affordable charger? I don't know if they exist. Check out your BPS and Cabella's catalogs to see what they have and then go to the Flea Market site and post a request to purchase a small battery charger with one bank. Have fun.

Gald to have you guys. If you really want new members how about walking around all the cars on I-95 and around the beltway in the AM and PM traffic as they sit there, not moving? Just kidding, but I do hate the Northern Virginia traffic. Have you contacted the Virginia Bass Federation to note the clubs in Northern Virginia and if the Region's director can help you secure more members?

Beautuful. Just beautiful. I have also caught two of my largest bass on small 1 inch white grubs fished on an ultra-light rig. But you outdid everyone. Thanks for sharing. That is a monster fish.

Serious subject made funny. Note: Even if you have a Living Will, it is still up to the doctor to pull the plug. I know as they refused to take father-in-law off respirator in the hospital even though the family begged them to do it. Sorry state of affairs.

Fish, Is that all? I get two of each. One for my wife who orders stuff for me and one for me. And you are right. It is overkill.

Guys are right. Wait for April. If the guys can put you all in a boat the Potomac is a super bass fisheries. Put in at Aquia Creek and fish the creek. Be sure to get your Virginia fishing license, too.

Texas-rigged to flip and pitch. Carolina rigged. Fish them like a creature bait and also as a jig trailer if you need bulk.

Good question. May I suggest Googeling crawfish and you may find your answer in the research for crawfish. I am from Louisiana and all I can say is that they turn red after you cook them and they are fantastic. They are also the happiest animals in the world. They get their tails squeezed and their heads sucked. It don't get any better than that!

Glenn and Marty. Others have been registered a little longer but it looks like they are not posting anymore. Check out the "Members" for dates registered. Everyone gives great advice. Yes and they are super guys. Best advice? Everything is valuable. May I suggest saving the posts on those topics which you find valuable for future reference?

I fish in club tournaments as a boater and a nonboater and we all get along great. I have not fished any federation tournaments due to the pressure involvled but some of my club members have fished them. Every now and then you will encounter a "jerk" in a federation tournament if there is money on the line. One story that was related to me occurred last year when one of our club members was a nonboater in a TBF tournament. The boater must have weighed 400 pounds and all my friend saw was his back for the entire time. The boater would not speak to the nonboater; share the front of the boat; would fish like he wanted to fish with no regards to the noboater; would not help net any fish; and would not acknowledge the nonboater in any manner. To say the least, my friend did not do well (caught two keepers) and the other club guys fishing the same tournament say that he was visibly shaken after the tournament. He is still upset about this encounter to this day and refuses to discuss it. He says he still has a very nasty flavor in his mouth over the adventure. I am fishing some of the B.A.S.S. federation tournaments with another club member this year to avoid the same scenario.

As said on this forum or maybe in one of the books I read on cover, when using trees make sure to cut some of the branches to make a place for the large bass to hold. Otherwise, only the smaller bass will use the cover. Please "search" this fourm for "cover" or "trees" to find the previous posts on this topic.

Hey Popeye, I used to agree with you until someone explained to me that people go to college to learn skills to be put to use in life and make a good living. The same holds true for college athletes. They go to school; learn a skill; and put it to use to make a good living. So, now I just watch the games and yell and scream for the jerseys, either for them or against them. Now as for UCLA. I grew up watching and reading about their fantastic seasons and I still have a lot of interest in the UCLA basketball program. All due to Coach Wooden and his teams. I remember Walton and Jabar and watching the NCAA Tournament finals when UCLA made their run. I would think it is an achievement that will never be broken.
