Another PFD reminder!
I'm as guilty as anybody when it comes to not wearing a life jacket. For last two days they have been looking for three young men who's boat capsized while duck hunting Ky. Lake. One of them is my cousin. It's obvious a life jacket would have saved their lives. I'll be wearing mine anytime my boat motor is running from now on. http://www.wkyx.com/local-news-details.asp?NewsID=9905

Reaction Strikes?
Reaction strikes happen in clear water. Maybe people just find themselves fishing for reaction bites in muddy water? I don't like fishing muddy water very much.

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
There is several tackle shops around. The best one is at Draffenville. Some of you will probally go by it on the way in. It is about 15 miles from Kenlake State Park. http://local.yahoo.com/info-15341141-fisherman-s-headquarters-benton

2009 The Pennants are flying and the Trash is almost in view!
Team chemistry and great management is a characteristic of most of the champion teams. Throw all of the talent away without chemistry and good leadership. The stars gotta be in line.

fun bank fishing
i don't know if i'd go THAT far, but you are absolutely right. i have been blessed with some fantastic fishin' holes. i have been blessed with a wonderful wife who understands my love for fishing and is completely supportive. i have been blessed with a father who cared enough to teach me to fish and took me along despite all my goofs, mistakes, tangles, hang ups, etc. i have been blessed with several friends along the way who are great fisherman and have been willing to share their time and knowledge to reduce my learning curve. i have been blesssed with kind landowners who have been trusting enough to allow me to fish on their property. and of course there's bassresource, which has also helped a great deal. there is certainly nothing special about my fishing and i will be the first to say it. anyone who has fished with me will vouch for that as well. i constantly try to remember that my results are not a product of what i have done, but rather a product of what others have been good enough to do for me. this helps me keep the proper perspective on things. Nice fish Paul! You are truely a very grateful man. That is a great post. Chris

Hook recomendation for 7 in senko
I use a 5/0 gammy EWG. The shorter the hook, the better action the senko will have.

time to remember...
Nice video Paul! You had a great year. Can't wait to see what you'll have going on this spring. CJ

If someone asked you....
I would set a date to go fishing with the person who asked.

Rapala DT Series of Crankbaits ...
They are fish catchers! I love the DT16 and the DT Flat 7. Some of the Japaneze lures are good stuff but, if you get your hands on a good DT it will catch em' up. That's the deal with balsa lures. Most any of them will catch fish but, you'll get some that are bass magnets.

crankbaits on superline???????
To each his own but, I would never use braid for a crankbait. Like Tin said, without stretch, you're giving the fish leverage to throw or tear out the hooks.

The Confession

How many waypoints
There's a lot that would dictate how many spots I check. The pattern I might have working would really make a difference.

deep water crankin secrets
Location and knowing "when" are the main things to learn. I don't do much customizing. As long as the crankbait is running straight, it will catch fish that are in a positive feeding mood or cause a negative fish to react. I use 8 lb. test P-Line CXX which is a copolymer line. I prefer a medium power/moderate action 7' rod. I make sure the crankbait has very sharp hooks. Making sure you have the right running depth crankbait is important. I prefer to be making some contact with the bottom.
