  1. Congratulations Dom!!! I am proud of you buddy. CJ
  2. Dave's reports are usually good because it is info coming from the locals. He does help his sponsors out a little. I will be posting reports here once it gets closer to time.
  3. I took my new 997csi out today for the first time. It takes some getting used to but I am in love with it already. I decided to go look at stuff that I knew was there. It blew my mind. I found a sunk boat next to a dock, some tires and all kinds of brush. I also run a Lowrance in the dash. I think it is important to have both. I did find I got the best images within 100 ft. If any body has any advice as far what settings to run it on, in a lake that doesn't exceed 60ft. I would appreciate it. I think I can get better images according to some of the pics I'm seeing if I could get the settings right.
  4. Lows could be 35-65 highs could be 55-80? Water temps should be 55-70? Water clarity should be clear to stained to muddy? ;D Just playin'
  5. I made it back home. I got power and cable but many people still don't. It's real spotty for those who have and those who don't. I am exhausted to say the least. Now I got to get to work and start fixing these houses that have been damaged. Kind of a bitter sweet i guess.
  6. "BASSAPALOOZA".....I like that! cart7, I love the avatar..freakin' hilarious. Look forward to meeting you! CJ
  7. Hope you and Deb are okay.
  8. Thanks guys. I got a call from back home and my power is back on! I'm letting a few of my friends stay at my place beens I'm paid up through Monday morning. Electric and water are like air, they're no big deal until you don't have them. I had to evacuate because I couldn't stand another candlelit dinner. Too romantic for me... LOL
  9. WOW! I don't know how to explain the chaos this ice storm has caused. I've never seen anything like it. Western Ky. is like a scene out of horror movie. I toughed it out for a few days but, I finally found refuge in Nashville. Feels good to be back in civilization. Finally got my cell phone back and internet service. Me and all of mine is fine. Hopefully I find my house and stuff is still there when I get back. :-/
  10. Probally won't find a lot of grass that time of year unless you go south into Tn. Even then I don't know how much you'll find. There could be some grass here and there.
  11. Please bring a bow for the carp and stack em' up like pigs! LOL
  12. One thing is, regardless of weather or elevation, if they run water that would give us some current, some of you may experience shoulder problems.
  13. We had really high water last year. It wasn't normal conditions. This is a river resevoir that has many conditions that will effect what patterns will be working best. I could list lures and patterns from the past but it would be a long list. I do believe there will be fish in different stages. Mostly pre-spawn and spawn.
  14. 40 minutes? 5bass, you're 15 minutes away in your boat. Cost you mo $$$ though!
  15. Those are some nice ones Fluke. They're plenty of slabs in both lakes here. Usually easy to catch that time of year.
  16. Awesome Kelley!!!
  17. I've really enjoyed reading the threads revolving around this topic. There has been great input! Some fish are stupid, some are not. I'll bet I caught more dumb fish than smart ones.
  18. X2. Nice way of putting it Paul.
  19. A johnboat will do fine. Just stay off the main lake if the wind gets up. There are a number of larger bays and creek arms that should be good fishing at that time. There are many boat ramps that will allow you to put in and never have to see the mainlake if the wind gets up.
  20. There are plenty of spots to bank fish for cats and crappie. We can do that! I would prefer to stay in a well lit, public spot though! : LOL J/K.
  21. Traps work in cold water but I prefer slowing down with a jig or plastic most of the time. Yes, there are different lures for season but some lures work year around. No, craws are good lures. I don't fish lizards much anymore. They work good though. I am more confident fishing downhill. I fish both ways but downhill works best for me. The most active offshore fish are always on top of the hump or relating to the shallower part of the structure where I fish. Current is an element that helps dictate fish relativity to structure. I don't night fish much. Yep, to an extent. The last one is a no brainer. Now if I could just do it for myself.
  22. Yes I watched it. Meeks was the most under-rated player in college basketball. I think he opened up some eyes lastnight.
  23. I catch different species certain times of year. Drums are the worst when the water is cool. Sauger, crappie, and catfish during the post spawn. Stripers, white bass, and even barfish in the summer and fall. Ocasionally a warmouth or bluegill in the spring.
  24. No problem. If anybody has any questions concerning the area resources and whatnot, feel free to ask. You may PM me if you need. I'll do my best to help you out. CJ
  25. There are a few places near by you can buy a fishing license.
